NOTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Coordinated and managed all site operations for single family housing division in Calgary. Construction operations averaged 30 to 40 turnovers per year.

Staffed and managed the international construction division of the Valens Group of Companies.

Managed the international construction division of a corporation with 70 plus employees and offices in Calgary and Moscow with project sites ranging from Siberia to the Black Sea to the Arctic Circle.

Implemented and completed phase 1 of a 250-unit housing project in Russia. Project delivered on time and ahead of budget on the first 60-unit phase. The project was halted due to funding issues by the customer. All profit numbers were met on the first US $16M phase.

Managed construction of a 120-unit hotel and business center in Khanti-Mansisk, Russia.

Founded this geothermal design/install company as a continuation of React Energy Ltd., a Geothermal Energy Systems Company. Performed full lifecycle sales, obtained, developed and managed employees and created and managed day to day business processes. Designed and supervised full installation processes and collaborated with engineers successfully creating effective designs. Prepared accurate and detailed design, installed and commissioned systems, and provided all turnover and warranty requirements.

Marketing and Sales Development, 2001- 2002 (Contract)

Developed a sales and marketing program for a new production facility. Developed all sales and marketing literature for dealer, contractor, and design and engineering segments. Established inventory levels and production schedules to meet sales plans. Helped establish yearly sales levels and strategies to meet all planned targets. Worked with the production manager to develop product to meet necessary quality levels.

Conducted weekly meetings with the production and operations manager to establish and maintain necessary inventory levels and set production schedules to meet all outstanding orders. Initiated and completed all the necessary documentation to become supplier of product to Rona, Totem, and Home Depot in western Canada. Established and maintained a contractor sales base in southern Alberta. Performed regular job site visits to provide direction and technical support for all general contractor personnel. Conducted all training with installation contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and engineers when required. Reported back to the production manager on product quality issues and assisted with obtaining solutions to remedy these issues. Offered direction to landscape architects and engineers on major landscaping projects requiring engineering. Set all yearly sales goals with the President and Vice President. Met and exceeded all established sales goals and received the maximum incentive provided by the sales incentive program.

Valens Developments Inc. Calgary Alberta

Vice President, International Construction, 1991-1999

Company liaison with Russian customers. Coordinated with customer to produce all plans and specifications during the design phase of sales negotiations. Directed and coordinated all designers and engineers to produce all the necessary plans and documentation for the projects. Worked with jurisdictional agencies in Russia to ensure specifications met all requirements for local building code and permitting requirements. Coordinated all quantity surveyor and supplier activities. Managed all logistics requirements to move supplies from various world locations to maintain contract schedule and budget. Oversaw all interviewing and hiring of employees, general contractors, subcontractors, and consultants in Calgary and abroad to facilitate contract completion. Oversaw the project turnover process. Prepared progress reports for the President and the Chief Executive Officer. Trained and promoted continued education for all on site crew members on the requirements and expectations of working abroad. Performed all management duties associated with running the construction division of the corporation. Took over and completed a $50 million dollar, 120 room hotel and business center project in Siberia, Russia. The project was completed on budget with minor delays. Successfully negotiated a design build contract for a 160,000 ft2, $60 million high school in the city of Salakhart, Russia.
