PROJECT

A Compact, Dynamic and Efficient Aquaponics System, USA July 2016 - Dec 2016

This project was proposed by our Professor Dr. Samuel Lands Berger, Ph.D., CSULA, which is inspired by the company Sky Greens revolutionized the farming industry in Singapore.

As a part of rehabilitation project, we developed this model of rotating vertical garden which is used to do farming in tiny urban areas, where land scarcity is more.

Installed Hydro Powered Driving System to minimize the maintenance cost with own idea.

Created a motion model of the driving mechanism shaft using Solidworks16.

We used wood material to build the entire structure which is 6ft in height.

Learnt wood working techniques. Followed GD&T techniques for proper fit for wood joints. Implemented the design and trials were done.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Larsen and Turbo Technology, India April 2013 - June 2015

Design Engineer:

Major responsibility is to understand client requirements, scope of work included.

Worked on Design & Drafting of Air Cushion winder assembly, this automation machine is one of the most important components in packaging system.

Studied the working mechanism stages & section dissection.

Prepared the design specifications and detailing task for sensor mount assembly, motor & clutch using SolidWorks 14.

Prepared the part modeling, Assembly and BOM, Material planning to reduce the Scrap.

The objective of cost reduction with process and part optimization was achieved in the expected time frame.

Used standard or reference designs for creation of new designs and electronic images. Organized and maintained CAD files.

Worked to provide resolutions to production issues and recommended modifications to existing products to eliminate malfunctioning.

Calculated and designed in considering mass, volume, thermal analysis and limits of the complete 3D modeled components.

Well organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.

Delivered overall 30% cost reduction and achieved design optimization to simplify package process that reduced material wastage and brought down manufacturing cost.
