Promoted to lead GM’s International Operations’ Planning activity at age 32, with responsibility for all strategic, business and product planning activities for GM vehicle operations outside North America.

Restructured two private equity portfolio companies which were hindered by a lack of vision and limited resource capability. Completed dozens of complex transactions, leading negotiating team to establish collaborations, partnerships and alliances. Led sale of non-core assets for GM (Nexteer, Saab, Saturn, HUMMER, Lotus) and Navistar (PurePower), contributing significant value to shareholders. Forged relationship between GM and Navistar for joint development of future commercial vehicles and contract manufacturing.

Led team that negotiated development of GM ventures in Poland, including construction of greenfield assembly operation in Gliwice. Subsequently served as country manager in Poland, building dealer network and delivering new DM 1 billion assembly plant on time and under budget. Secured extensive infrastructure incentives from government and 20-year tax holiday, oversaw hiring of 2,500 employees. Sales exceeded budget by 60%, grew market share substantially.

Led deployment of ACDelco Dedicated Distribution Group (DDG), a comprehensive effort to rationalize ACDelco’s distribution network from over 300 WD’s to less than 100. Drove development of ACDelco value proposition, the critical factor in ACDelco’s strong profitability, $2bn in revenues, and superior brand positioning – despite its customers having the ability to purchase the same components direct from the manufacturer.

Responsible for business development and merger and acquisition activities of Navistar. Managerial oversight responsibility for Navistar Cherokee AL and PurePower Blythewood operations.
