A leading tier 1 supplier specializing in design, engineering and manufacturing of interior kinetic and decorative components and systems. Managed the 350 persons, non-union, Vicksburg facility with the following responsibilities:
Human Resources Manager
Overall management of the Human Resources department
Development, implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures regarding safety, workers’ compensation, recruiting, employee relations, and handbook administration, training requirements, payroll, record keeping, communications and benefit administration.
Responsible for representing the company in MESC, EEOC, NLRB, workers’ compensation, and Wage/Hour matters.
Safety/Environmental:
Accurate and updated knowledge federal and state laws applicable to wage, hours, working conditions safety labor relations, environmental regulations to ensure compliance with state and federal legal requirements.
Safety Committee Chair in charge of the implementation, development and ongoing maintenance of OSHA requirements, Federal regulations, ANSI standards as well air quality and hazardous waste regulations
Implementation and interpretation of corporate safety policies and procedures as well as certified trainer on hazardous waste disposal (RCRA)
Environmental designate for ISO 14001 including certified auditor responsibilities both internally and cross plant, serve on the corporate ISO 14001 policy committee.
Workers Compensation:
Case Management for all worker’s compensation claims including overseeing the state mandated form processing and in house investigations.
Training:
Administer training program including an annual train needs analysis, training schedule, training effectiveness and oversight of employee records.
Instruct the following classes – annual RCRA, lockout/tag out, Train the trainer, Harassment Prevention, Emergency procedure; Supervisor handbook, Supervisor safety and Orientation.
Recruitment:
Oversee all hourly recruitment as well direct responsibility for all salary recruitment.
Employee relations:
Ability to balance the role as employee advocate and business partner while maintaining neutrality and credibility within the organization.
Led regular plant wide information meetings communicating goals, programs, and processes for the plant; edit and publish quarterly plant newsletter; manage all plant communication including changes to handbook, insurance, and state of the business as well as the employee wellness program and other motivational activities.
Provided advice and council to management and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices.
Management:
Manage a Human Resources team of four direct reports; core member of the plant management group making decisions regarding the operation of the manufacturing plant.
Represent the company in all MESC, EEOC, NLRB, workers’ compensation, and wage/hour matters.
Participate as member of plant internal TS16949 audit team.
