Management of Sales and Marketing. Responsible for Telecom sales. Building relationships with Telecom middle and upper management personnel at AT&T, Ciena, Frontier, and CenturyLink. Daily activities for the last 10 years with AT&T were to manage the relationship between Procurement and supplier Sales and Operations representatives. Led a Cross Functional Sourcing Team that evaluated RFP’s in a variety of product categories for efficiency, quality and productivity of the product and sales teams that eventually resulted in Supplier selections.

Following my retirement from AT&T I spent one year (2006 - 2007 ) making sales for Alamo Iron Works. In this position I established numerous business opportunities that resulted in contracts with Service Providers that endure today and will be in place for years to come.

In 2007 I was called back to AT&T in to a contracting role to support their outside plant business for two more years.

After leaving AT&T for a second time, I went to work for Genesis Network Enterprises in a National Account Director position selling back to AT&T. Huge accomplishments in this role from 2009 – 2017. My sales still exceed $30M/year for Genesis with some projects having margins that exceed 35%. My responsibilities included but not limited to Sales, Business Development and operations

Leadership. Responsible for the daily functions of the AT&T Supplier Performance Management Program on twenty seven projects for suppliers that handle Switching, Signaling, Internet and Outside Plant divisions of AT&T’s business. Managed a team responsible for Tier 1supplier Assessments, Survey’s and process improvements. Rated tops among my peers with an A+ rating by my leadership team for my ability to establish and attain goals. Led all Supplier Performance Management teams supplier compliance to TL9000 and process improvement plans. Selected to lead the Supplier Recognition Program and Leadership Summit for the President of Procurement. Guided and mentored subordinates in team meetings by providing product knowledge, training sessions, and objectives for obtaining process improvements.

Sales

National Account Director-Telecom Division – June 2009 – February 2017

Sold 5 multi-million dollar Field Services programs to AT&T. Four still active through 2020.

Renegotiated two existing agreements to extend term and increase profitability.

Created Teaming agreements between OEM’s and Genesis ATC to create value add to the services we perform in the telecommunications industry.

Use existing relationships and contacts in the telecommunications industry to seek opportunities.

Daily activities are in Business Development handling the AT&T Sales and Customer Service Account

Successfully positioned, coordinated and landed several multi-million dollar projects. The largest resulting in the hiring of 360+ new Genesis employees.

Through business relationships in the industry I found and opportunity in the cell tower business led the Genesis team in responding to the RFP and was awarded a 5 year contract on Oct 2011 with AT&T to audit/routine/service 12,000 cell tower sites twice annually. This is an annual multi-million dollar deal.

Manager Procurement Contracting Support – May 2007 – June 2009

Chief of Staff work for AVP – Strategic Sourcing Procurement. Required to ensure all contracting work was completed in a timely manner and insured the accuracy of material submitted. Had deadline and coordination responsibilities for AVP.

In July 2008 I took over the outside plant manhole, hand hole and environmental vault product line. I wrote contracts with 7 suppliers in this product line and administered the agreements after completion.

These 7 agreements required coordination across AT&T’s 22 state footprint with a multitude of internal AT&T clients and the suppliers.

Successfully led an effort to consolidate outside plant products during AT&T’s acquisition of Bell South Telecom.

Director of Business Development – Supplier Performance Mgmt. January 2006 – May 2007

Develop a business partnership between AIW’s and AT&T.

Competed and won several proposals with AT&T that resulted in about $500,000 in revenue during my short term there.

Business I developed while employed at AIW’s has continued to flourish and bring in revenue.

I left AIW’s for a position back in AT&T’s procurement department as a contractor.

Associate Director – Supplier Performance Mgmt. 2000 – Oct. 2005

Manage two annual events for the President Procurement and VP Procurement - Strategic Sourcing. They are the Supplier Recognition Program and the AT&T/Supplier Leadership Summit.

Bring Tier 1 suppliers online in our data repository, SQCentral and manage the supplier’s performance, foster a good supplier/client relationship and ensure continuous improvements.

Perform bi-annual supplier performance assessments and internal client satisfaction surveys and present them jointly to AT&T and Supplier leadership teams.

Responsible for quality assurance and product reliability clauses in Tier 1, 2 & 3 supplier contracts associated with OSP, Internet, Switch and Signaling product categories.

Perform Quality Audits on Suppliers and deliver audit results to suppliers and internally to AT&T leadership to promote continuous quality process improvement initiatives.

Provided leadership and operational direction to my Supplier Performance Management team (SPM). The team manages 27 projects that encompass 63 suppliers.

Motivated employees on a regular basis regarding sales and attendance goals. Controlled and managed office incentive budget.

Coordinate with SCM’s in developing strategy for ensure good supplier performance, vendor relationships and root cause analysis in an effort to maintain a record Supplier Performance.

Ranked # 1 Supplier Performance Management Team in total business plan metrics with an average score of 95.7% compliance and 100% process improvement plans in place when suppliers miss a target three consecutive months.

AT&T Operations, Inc., San Antonio, TX (promotion)

Senior Contract Manager - 1997 – 2000

Responsible for writing and executing Switching contracts for the purchase of products and service to AT&T’s Network Operations Department.

Managed and executed a high visibility and productive contract between AT&T, Siemens ICN.

Part of a large team working on Waller Creek Communications case. They are a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC). The contract survived the scrutiny of the Texas Public Utility Commission and resulted in landmark decisions regarding vendor co-location in AT&T central offices.

Created, executed and implemented service agreements with 8 AT&T Mid-west suppliers that are approved to perform work in our central offices.

Developed and led a cross functional team of Mid-west managers to approve or disapprove supplier’s for work in AT&T territory and premise.

Manager-Technical/Network Operations: 1995-1997

Managed 10 Communications Technicians in 7 central offices in San Antonio Texas.

Subordinates were responsible for telephone, internet and special services installation.
