WORK EXPERIENCE & VOLUNTEERING

OLD NAVY: Seasonal Sales Associate October 2015 – January 2016

As a brand associate my duties included working with customers, maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming in-store environment, working on cash, signage and markdown processes, and replenishment tasks.

HMCS QUADRA CADET SUMMER TRAINING CENTER: Divisional Petty Officer October June – August 2016

As a Divisional Petty Officer, I was responsible for the supervision and training of Cadets between the ages of 13 and 16. My duties involved teaching, supervising, ensuring the safety of the cadets, participating in ceremonial events such as Ceremony of the Flags, administrative duties, and handling any issues that may have arisen with the cadets.

ROYAL CANADIAN SEA CADETS: Coxswain and Chief Petty Officer First Class 2010 - 2016

As Coxswain and Chief Petty Officer First Class, I was the highest ranking non-commissioned officer in my Corp. I reported directly to the Commanding Officer and was responsible for ensuring the Corp ran efficiently. My responsibilities included organizing training, teaching, paperwork, and a variety of other leadership and administrative roles.

WINSTON CHURCHILL HIGH SCHOOL: Class of 2016

International Baccalaureate Program

I participated in a variety of extra-curricular activities such as band, choir, Amnesty International/Human Rights club and the Lethbridge School District Student council. I also participated in the International Baccalaureate Art show.

TRENT UNIVERSITY: Business and Humanities Honours Program

I intend on Specializing in Human Resources, as well as completing additional courses in linguistics and various languages

Although I have not participated in many extra-curricular activities this year in the interest of focusing on my classes, I look forward to getting more involved next year

SKILLS

My Cadet experience and retail experience with Old Navy have allowed me to develop a variety of valuable and transferable skills, including the ability to communicate in a variety of manners, the ability to give and receive direction, time management skills, problem solving skills, and customer service skills. Additionally, I have experience using both Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.

The Lord Strathcona Medal is the highest award which can be bestowed upon a Canadian cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training.

ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION MEDAL OF EXCELLENCE 2013

The Legion Medal of Excellence is awarded by the Royal Canadian Legion to Cadets who have displayed excellence in citizenship both inside and outside of the Cadet program.

NAVY LEAGUE MEDAL OF EXCELLENCE 2016

The Navy League Medal of Excellence is awarded annually to one Cadet in each province who has demonstrated a thorough grasp on training, an outstanding personal example of dress and deportment, and good citizenship through community service activities.
