Emergency Registered Nurse (2010 – present) St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT

Working in a Level I trauma center has taught me how to assess, prioritize, investigate, and treat a plethora of diseases and patients. I see different disease processes as well as new and improved treatment methods every day, which allows me to provide the most competent patient care I possibly can. My time management, prioritization, and delegation skills have grown substantially in my over 6 years here, and I love the rush of learning something new every single day.

Public Health Registered Nurse (2012-present) New England Urgent Care, West Hartford, CT

In the outpatient community clinic setting, a different set of diseases are common and varied treatments abound. Many of the patients who frequent the clinic have complaints that could be managed by their PCP but those doctors are so busy that patients cannot be seen with an acute complaint for months. I hope to bridge this gap as a mid-level provider in order to see and treat more of the patients that have entered the healthcare marketplace since the ACA. At the clinic we treat everything from a URI, UTI and other infections, to dehydration, to acute injuries like fractures and lacerations. I enjoy this little niche of medicine and hope to expand my knowledge here as well.
