Hartmann-exact KG, the parent company, is a global, focused, specialist into magnetic switch technologies for both automotive & transportation markets. All of the sensors are custom designed and built for OEMs and there is no “off-the-shelf technology in their portfolio. The job title reads as Key Account Manager but the reality of a two-man USA operation for a new company launching in the Americas dictates a multi-hat role of heavy Business Development, Technical Product Specialist, CRM Manager, Quality Lead/Audit Specialist, &Trade Show/Industry Event Scout.
Key Accounts under my control included: Tesla---Models S & X currently in production. Model 3 award was won and secured in late 2016. American Axle Manufacturing (AAM) --- I scouted & pursued this account for 9 months and won the business award for their new electrified vehicle drive train development programs. Currently changing the culture of the Orion Assembly Plant production floor environment with the lead role as the Process Analyst/PFMEA Specialist. Daily roles are varied and include: Safety/risk analysis, critical thinking/ solution finding and “hot issue” root cause trouble shooting. Driving process change to hit the newly assigned GM Global Quality Standard of Built in Quality-Level 4 (BIQ4) where “defects do not leave the assembly station”.
Formed and trained the company’s cross-functional PFMEA Team; chair weekly meetings that interface with identified GM Groups (Design Release Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, New Model Integration, Warranty/Quality, & LEAN Manufacturing Initiatives) to drive PFMEA issues to resolution. I held multiple roles with TRW Engineering Groups over 12 years, in these areas: Crash Sleds/Test & Analysis where I participated in over 4000 crash sled tests; Asian Platform Airbag (A/B) Group where I launched TRW’s first successful passenger airbag program using DuPont’s DYM 830 resin; Airbag Fabric Group where I got to work closely with Dupont, BASF and other major resin suppliers on VA/VE programs, low cost resin introductions, super resins, regrind studies & resin & adhesive matching for frontal system airbags; Advanced Development Group where I was selected to a team that ran the successful rollover testing of a Ford Explorer for a secret NHTSA program; & the Rollover Curtain Group where I developed TRW’s first non-fill tube rollover curtain system.
