Accountable for all Verizon Business purchasing functions in fourteen countries. These countries are Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Korea, India, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China and Thailand.
Annual combined spend of these fourteen countries is 400+ million USD. Majority of spend by buyers is on telecommunications equipment and third party service delivery.
Maintain KPI's
on vendor performance and service delivery while monitoring and taking
corrective action of IT vendor performance gaps both nationally and globally.
Negotiate, create, maintain, revise and renew local contracts. Liaised with Verizon Sourcing group for global contracts. Provide the ground work with local vendors to action new global
contracts or to enter into participation agreements allowing acceptance into global contracts.
Responsible for RFI/RFP process for such opportunities as data centre creation and upgrades. Facilities projects such as office build outs and services like cooling tower projects involving engineers/architects, logistics, municipal permits, etc.
Use of SAP to control asset management and disposal activities, inventory control, payment
review, creation of requisitions, purchase orders and reporting. Maintains SLAs, software revisions, equipment details and licensing.
Track monthly and annual spending trends. Compare buy/sell price margins with pricing team. Work with sales on upcoming opportunities that could afford the opportunity to gain better discount structures.
Experienced in the requirements of change and incident management, SOX compliance, PCI
(payment card) and ITIL standards.
Maintained purchasing standards and procedures in alignment with globally accepted purchasing standards. Code of conduct, privacy policy, ethics, sanctioned and embargo countries, foreign corrupt practices act are just a few of the required training required at Verizon.
National and International logistics experience. National experience utilizing mainly UPS and Federal Express services for small to medium packing sizes.
