Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to your ad for the environmental laboratory technical. I am completed a Master of Science Program in Chemical Engineering Processes at University of Tirana in 2013. I received my BSc in Food Chemistry from the same university in 2011.
After completing my master studies, I worked as an Environmental Chemist at the National Environmental Agency for two years. This job position made me competent in a wide range of responsibilities described in the real order as follows:
The first step was collecting the samples using appropriate methods for the collection of surface-water, ground-water, etc. in lakes and rivers in Albania.
The second step was analyzing the samples in a certified laboratory, accredited by the Agency of Laboratory Accrediting in Albania and the European Environmental Agency in Copenhagen, and following the proper laboratory procedures. There were several parameters to be analyzed with or without water-testing equipment such as: determination of pH, conductivity, salinity, dissolved oxygen, COD, BOD5, the measure of N-NH4, N-NO2, N-NO3, N-total, P-PO4, P-total and heavy metals like Zn, Al, Fe, Co, Hg, Ni. I was also able to use techniques to calibrate equipment like: pH-meter, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrometers, COD reader, and BOD5 reader. Performing calibration testing according to associated SOPs ISO standards and regulatory requirements. Developing and formalizing calibration procedures ensuring all laboratory instruments have calibration SOPs.
The third step consisted in calculating and collecting the results. There were various analytical and certified methods by European Environmental Agency, which needed to be well-accomplished to get the correct results.
The fourth step was to report, interpret and analyze the results per the requirements from the 2 monitoring agencies mentioned above. Lots of meetings, conferences and assemblies have taken place in order to present, discuss and formulate these results. These events were also held enhance the data gathering and to give meaning to
The fifth step which included finding solutions that would improve the environmental parameters and figure out ways to act on the issues such as minimizing the pollution, maintaining the quality of lakes and rivers and negotiating on the potential actions that must have been taken or would be taken in the following months, years or certain periods of time.
As the environmental engineer, I was also responsible for control and management of wastewater. The same analyzing procedure was applied to the wastewater discharged from different industries. The main point in this case was monitoring the data, comparing it with wastewater level control measures. I also consulted lots of businesses per how to help them develop their business while protecting the environment, implementing eco-green initiatives and conduct a positive cost analysis.
At the moment, I am working as a Technical Sales Manager at Berdica Shpk. I have been working there since January 2015. While this job position is mostly focused on the dairy industry, there was one aspect of my job responsibility that tied perfectly with my (Master) thesis research results. In that research I studied the discharge of the wastewater from major dairy companies in Albania. Working at Berdica, I used that expertise to advise the directors of production on choosing new products that are environmental-friendly. For your information, my research can be accessed in the link below:

I have been actively involved with environmental issues and movements in certain activities and initiatives such as ‘Let’s clean our Albania in one day’, ‘Now We Move’, ‘Recycling awareness activities’, ‘World Water Day 2014, 2015’, ‘International Environment Day 2014, 2015’, ‘Healthy Environment starts from my house’. I have participated regularly in such activities as a volunteer with a non-profit, multi-cultural, non-governmental Youth Center Borderless, since February 2014.
I am highly confident that I can utilize my skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to pursue a career as an environment engineer. The assets I possesses are only enriched with my perseverance, commitment and result-orientation.
Should you have any questions regarding my application, please feel free to contact me via e-mail or telephone.
Thank you in advance for considering my application for this competitive position. I am looking forward to hearing from you to discuss my application in detail.
Sincerely,
Frida Allgjata
