WORK EXPERIENCE
Data Analyst Intern - Sodexo, Buffalo, New York May 2016 – Dec 2016
Query Optimization: Increased the data retrieval efficiency of the Maximo application up to 40%, by analyzing over 10,000 private SQL queries and replacing them with faster dynamic SQL queries.
Conceptualized the use cases and prototyped mobile application for facility management team using 2 different platforms, namely Microsoft PowerApps, Salesforce, and effectively communicated the findings to business.
Identified exceptional cases, outliers in production data and created reports on data trends using SQL.
Examined gaps in the existing data model and managed changes to meet requirements of various downstream business units.
Recommended technical feasibility solutions for process and technology improvement of Maximo 7.5.
Collaborated in design and development of a multi-page report for work order statistics using Eclipse Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT).
Data Analyst ETL Analyst - IBM India Private Limited, Bangalore, India Jan 2013 – Jul 2015
Client: Dun & Bradstreet
Facilitated data management by collaborating with internal and external teams to extract, validate, aggregate, and manipulate the dataset containing 200 million business records to create reports, insights, recommendation, and predictive scores.
Liaised between the business users and development team to ensure proper decision-making on master data creation, data standardization, and data accuracy.
Involved in the creation and maintenance of file specifications, data modeling, data profiling; source to target data mapping and future data needs.
Analyzed technical requirements and translated it to highly analytical, technical solution for retrieval and analysis of data in the form of products like SBRPS, Data append, Market Insight, and Customer Insight.
Proactively implemented the automation of complex process using SAS and JCL, which processed up to 3 million records in short time, thus eliminating human errors (up to75%).
Automated the creation of monthly transactions processed source data using SAS, thus reducing the pre-processing time by 2 hours.
Utilized SAS and Tableau for effectively manipulating data to produce descriptive statistics and data dashboards.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Artist Recommendation System and Personalized Music Feed: (Solr, Java, Python, SQL, Oracle(11g), HTML, CSS)
Built a crawler to extract data for around 10,000 artists, data included Articles, User Reviews, Twitter handles and Tour Information; the crawler was a combination of 3 APIs namely Echonest, Bing, and Faroo.
Created and maintained an RDBMS to store login information and a list of users preferred music genres.
Performed Sentiment Analysis, Named Entity Tagging on the crawled data using Stanford-NLP, indexed and stored the processed data in Solr core.
Implemented a custom-scoring algorithm, which uses the processed data, popularity score from Echonest API, and the user preference to recommended new Artists/bands for the users.
Multilingual Search System: (Solr, Java, SQL, HTML, CSS)
Collaborated with three colleagues to develop a multilingual faceted search system, including a web interface that allows users to search and browse multilingual data that was indexed and stored in Solr.
Collected data using the API’s from Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr on a wide range of topics such as Syrian Refugee Crisis, Paris Attacks, and Climate Change Summit.
Classification of MNIST Handwritten Digit Image: (Matlab)
Used the Machine-learning workflow to process and transform MNSIT data to create a predictive model that predicts the handwritten digit images.
Implemented three different Machine-learning algorithms for the prediction model namely Logistic regression, Single hidden layer neural network, and Convolutional Neural network and achieved an accuracy of 95%.
