Work Description (Supervision)

Assigned in Process Area Familiarization in the project design and operation philosophy by reviewing the design manual, P&ID and instrumentation control drawing, and equipment technical spicification together with any other relevant drawings. The equipment involved in PROCESS areas are; Steam Turbine Generator; Hydraulic Turbine; Fuel Gas Compressors; 3 Gas Turbine Generators and Compressors Each of this have the output of 125 Megawatts. N2; C3; MR; GTG (Gas Turbine generator and have the Output of 40 Megawatts.

Foundation Fieldbus segment checking. Console operator during loop checking, functional testing and cause and effect. Familiar to use Emerson Delta V system. Trouble shooting and clearing of software and hardware punch item during loop checking.

Performed COLD/HOT (SAT) Site Acceptance Test of different kinds of panels such as DCS, IPS, HIPPS, FGS, MARK VI, BENTLY NEVADA, BMS, EBARA SPEED TRIP CONTROL PANEL; POWER DISTRIBUTION BOARD; FIBER OPTICS CABINET; MMS Panel and other vendor cabinets. Raised punchlist and categorized which one is to be done before energized the panel and punchlist to be done before start loop check.

Loop checked/Function Test of different system on three GAS TURBINE GENERATORS (N2, MR, C3 and GTG) such as Online and Offline Water Wash Skid, DLN Skid, IGV’s, GCV & SRV (Inlet Guide Vanes, Gas Control Valve and SRV Stop Ratio Valve) Filter house Pulse Jet system. And also raised DPL Punchlist and which punchlist cannot be completed on the same day to be submitted and put on WINPCS.

To witness Loop Checking of Foundation Field Bus (FF) Smart Instruments, Control Valves with DVC, Shutdown Valves, RCS (Redundant Control System) and monitor on Delta V DCS System, Triconex IPS System and AMS (Asset Management System). And also simulation/loop checking of Vibrations both Radial and Axial displacement, Keyphasors, Speed Sensors and Temperature controlled and monitored by Bently Nevada Series 3500 and Mark VI.

Preparation of red line mark up or as built drawing (loop drawing, P&ID, termination drawing) so that any changes on site is captured during loop check. To attend the Request For Inspection (RFI) for the systems together with the main contractor and raised punchlist and to be categorized prior for loop check.

Cal. of MMC Tape Tri-mode Temp/Oil and Water for Ship Tank Gauging Systems.

Cal. Of O2 analyzer model # 262 A (portable) Servomex.

Cal. Of O2 monitor model # OX-62B (portable) Riken keiki

Dismantling and re-assemble of SOOT BLOWER, removed all the existing bearings, gaskets, sealing.

Put new grease, oil and testing and observed if working properly.

Install Fire and Safety system on the Ship, removed the existing smoke and heat detectors in the engine room and in the bridge and install the new. Commission as per manufacturers standard and witnessed by the Chief Officer.

Assist in servicing of ODME-Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment, MK II & III in the Ship, checked Oleometer in engine room, pump room, verify if supply water is clean, checked the hydraulic panoply, and checked the operation of slope and discharge valve. Checked the calculator unit in Cargo Control Room, checked the printer if working properly.

Field simulation thru Hart communicator from the transmitter and check the output in DCS/ESSDS control system. Check the linearity of the valves by using milliamps source and also from the DCS control system. Check the operation of ON & OFF valves at the Mole sieves area and check the limit switches. Simulate the fire by using UV/IR test detector to the UV Flame detectors and check if the logic are working properly.

Simulate the smoke on the smoke head by using the smoke test can and also check the alarms in DCS control system. Simulate the gas on the gas detector head by using the Methane gas bottle and also check the alarms and shutdown.

Work Description (Supervision)

Worked for Fire & Gas Detection System. Knowledge in DCS Foxboro monitoring and Triconex PLC. Verification to Discrete I/O’s from PLC to be open/close on time based logic (force ON & OFF). Assure every loop operates both manual and auto mode control.

Simulate from PLC by entering the integer value (Raw C) & checked if the UAlarms/Trip indicated in DCS. Analyze the ILD how a loop operates & study how the permissive effect its operation. Checked the range & alarms configured in DCS if it is the same configured in ICS (Inst. Config. Sys.). If there is discrepancy bet. field range & DCS range is my responsibility to make the ICS change request and submit to Foxboro Vendor to correct them.

Simulate the Low-Low pressure on pressure switch hook-up to the fire tube and checked if there is output feedback to the Fire beacon lights (red) installed in the field & checked the indication in DCS/PLC. Simulate the gas on Hydrocarbon gas detectors ( polytron 2IR, 1EX measuring head) 50% LEL to the sensor by using the Methane Gas and checked if the local gas alarm will trigger (whistle) and the gas beacon lights (blue) flashing. Calibrate and set the parameters of H.C gas detectors (polytron 2IR DRAGGER) by using MTL communicator (Measurement Technology Ltd.) or by Hart communicator.

Calibrate the Valtex control valves w/ beta positioners, checked the fail action either FC or FO. And also adjust the proximity switch sensor to get the start to open and start to close percentage. Functional checked the ON & OFF valves (Vanessa controls) w/ 2 proximity sensor switch for open and close indication and adjust if necessary to get the exact reading in DCS/PLC.

Simulate the temperature by using the Decade Resistance Box to the RTD’ transmitters (Rosemount model #: 644R) Performed the final loop checked w/ LNG representative for final acceptance for all the loops at Butane storage tank, and also responsible for final acceptance report.

Troubleshooting from field to MDF, PLC cabinet, PCS/DCS cabinet, Barriers (MTL), checked the thermocouples, RTD’s transmitters. Setting of Vibration probe (voltage gap). Functional test of proximator at vibration panel (Bentley Nevada series 3500). Assure that every loop operate both manual and auto mode.

Calibrate pressure switches, pressure and flow transmitters, adjust limit switches, and also loop checked for both analog and digital signals. And also responsible for final acceptance report.

Commissioning of transmitter I/O’s, which interlock on up-scale and downscale circuit for instrument alarm and trip switching for, plant ESD. Solenoid and control valve for open and close port. Rectification and calibration of ABB transmitters using ABB Kent Taylor Communicator (pressure, level, flow, temperature). Magnetrol interface level transmitters (displacer type), control valves (fisher’s control).

Performed the close loop checked by applying 50% signal on the Master Controller and simulate also the signal to the Slave controller thru ABB Kent Taylor communicator and checked if the controller send an output signal to the valve open/closed.

Commissioning and assuring of intrinsic safe equipment by providing approved barrier system and entity concept parameter for hazardous area of explosion and ignition dust proof for electronic transmitters, indicators. Performed the logic test, two out of three voting from the (level switches, pressure transmitters), one will alarm and two will cause the Turbine trip/shutdown.
