HSBC GLT is part of the HSBC Group serving almost 70-85% of the HSBC IT needs which includes all the new developments, deployments, maintenance and production support across the group on AS/400 Platform using RPG IV
The aim of the project was to deploy the One HSBC Core Banking System in the Latin American Countries to bring them to One HSBC standards including the offering of products to customers. The deployment involved right from the existing systems conversion to deployment of One HSBC Systems. The main challenges were to evaluate the pros and cons of a Big Bang or Phased approach Conversion. Apart from the conversion the identification of the existing third parties interface systems architecture that were to be retained and the architecture of new interfaces that needs to be built with the One HSBC System
