I worked through these years in the area of
professional sales and management. For a variety of
companies. This involved being a facilitator for
training programs and also working in the area of
human resources. Also during this period I became
involved in bldg management which involved leasing
maintenance general repair and some custodial work
.I was involved in this for fourteen years.Working
in the communities of Victoria, Nanaimo,and
several communities in the Okanagan.. During this
time I developed training programs, ran a major
portion of the human resources, and actively
managed the locations and people mentioned above.
During this time I also managed a medical office
building which I provided the maintenance service
from a custodial perspective as well as electrical,carpentry and plumbing.I was in this position for
14 years.
2009-2012 Hope for Freedom:
Having moved through the ranks doing admin work,taking training to become a counselor, group work
both with men and women most of which had come from
a background that allowed for my education in the
area of sex workers,and one on one mentoring,
dealing with mental health issues such as ADHD,
Asbergers, Anxiety disorders and bipolar. During my
tenure here I received my certification as a
community support worker, addiction specialist
diploma,CCADC certification,first aid
certification and also became a Pastor with the
Four Square Gospel Church.
2012-2014 Together We Can Education and Recovery
Society, Here I served as a full time counselor
doing group work and one on one counselling along
with some admin work.
2014- present working as a caregiver for seniors
through Access health
2014- also work with at risk youth at Shasta Home
Education
Grade 12 Graduated 1976, Victoria High School
1977-1980 Pacific University, Oregon
Psychology,and Chemistry as undergraduate studies
1980-- I embarked upon various training programs
along with accounting programs every two years
during my tenure.
2009-certificate in Community support and
addictions
2010- Addiction specialist diploma and first aid
certificate
2011- CCADC certification Canadian Counselor
Certification also ordained as a Pastor with
courses which have been ongoing at Pacific Bible
college.
Present- Working on International certification.
Volunteer During my tenure in Nanaimo, I was very active,
experience both from a municipal as well as provincial
political level. I served many years as a
volunteer, both in the Empire Day Society and also
the Bathtub Society. Subsequently, I became
President of the Empire Day Society, and
Vice-Commodore of the Bathtub Society, and Campaign
Manager for the mayoralty race of Mr. Frank Ney,
which, with the help of many volunteers, we won
with a 55% majority. I have participated, on a
volunteer basis, in a variety of positions since
the last mentioned, but have never taken office
since that time.
