Handled the FMEA and the quality reports
Intern at Automech Pvt, Ltd, Nasik, India (July 2013 – August 2013)
Learned in detail the working of the Logistics & material handling system as well as introduced to the ISO/TS Standards in the manufacturing of Axels for an Automotive company
Worked on implementing the Kaizen and Kanban system in the unloading of the axels
Intern at H. Y. Technocrats, Nasik, India (September 2010- March 2011)
Implemented 5S on the shop floor and increased the production efficiency by 30% and also improved production time cycle
Improved the Process and Machine Capability on the drilling machine by 15% by using six sigma methodologies
Worked on the ongoing project to improve the process efficiency with the help of lean methodologies
PROJECTS
Application of Six Sigma Methodology to reduce defects in Grinding Process: May 2016 - August 2016
Studied the ongoing process and analyzed the rejection rate (16.6%) of the grinding process of a distance piece in a CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injector) using the DMAIC concept
Process mapping was done and the measurement systems were documented
Defects were analyzed and narrowed down to the trivial few using fishbone diagrams and cause and effect diagrams
Causes like repair batches mix up, presence of sand blasting dust, improper loading/unloading of part, improper setting, material removal rate not ok were finalized as the root causes and rectified resulting in the lowering of the rejection rate to 1.19%
Packaging in the project fMER (Fast Emergency Medical Response): January 2016 - June 2016
Conducted the packaging of the equipment’s needed in the fEMR, a nonprofit organization which helps people get the necessary medical help in disaster hit areas
Developed a new and streamlined design of the products needed in fEMR in a box
MRP DSS Simulation Project: January 2016 - May 2016
Project involved carrying out the manufacturing resource planning through excel based simulation model of a company and maximize its profit
It involved implementing my knowledge of inventory management, MRP planning, work in progress for manufacturing of six products
The simulation software was used to was run to determine the Forecasts and Bill of Material (BOM) for each product. A decision support system was used to facilitate the process in the company
Optimization of Agricultural Land to the Major Crops to Maximize Profits: January 2016 - May 2016
The project dealt with using linear programming to solve the optimization problem of land allocation
After analyzing the statistics and researching many articles, a new model was proposed to maximize the profit was by optimizing the land allocation problem and the transportation system in the state of Punjab in India
Excel Solver was used to run the optimization model
Supply Chain Management Analysis in Subway: August 2014 - December 2014
Analysed the assembly flow and plotted the flowchart accordingly
Studied the Kanban system and the Just In Time used in subway and came to a solution for the possible improvement in the problem of overcrowding and the delay in the service
Process Capability Improvement in the Inlet Hole Drilling of Common Rail Injector (CRI): May 2013 - April 2013
Identified the problems in the Gun Drilling operation of a CRI using the six sigma methodologies
Using cause and effect and fish bone diagrams narrowed the defects down to 3 major causes viz. Leakage because of O-ring, improper tightening of nuts and mixing of CAD program
Successfully improved the machine and process capability by 60%, thus reducing the rejection rate
Atmospheric Water Generator: November 2009 - March 2010
Participated in the IET Karmaveer Expo for model making and presented the atmospheric water generator
Harvested water from the dehumidifier and made it potable
Fabricated the entire dehumidifier and the water system in it
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Student Assistant at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, USA August 2016 – December 2016
Assisting with setting up the events held all over university, organize and optimize all the processes taking place
Working efficiently with the team given and completing the process successfully
