Jafra Oil Production facility and Gas compression station and Wellhead Connections is plant located in Deir Ez Zor Petroleum Company (DEZPC), JV between SPC and TOTAL E&P of France, has a capacity to treat 50,000 Bbl./day of Oil and associated gas and extract small quantities of LPG and condensates

4/2001 - 10/2001 Kvaerner Hydro-test Project Engineer – CONOCO-Syria GAS PLANT

US $400 million project for Desgas associated gas project in Syria's Deir Ez Zor region. Full capacity of 13 million cu m/day. The project scope includes construction of a two-train, 450-MMcfd gas processing complex, six compressor stations, a 100-mile gathering system, and a 150-mile trunk. Gathering system transports up to 5 million cu m/day (MMcmd) of gas to the 13 MMcmd processing plant; the facility also processes 8 MMcmd for reinjection into the reservoir. The not injected processed gas is shipped via a 250-km line to the Syrian grid for use at fuel power plants and industrial facilities.

Duties & Responsibilites

Supplier Quality Duties:

-Coordinate for in process, final inspections and audits on the different suppliers in Europe, East Asia & Middle East.

-Contribute to SQS weekly status report

-Provide shop surveillance to ensure compliance with ASME, EN and Alstom Power Specification requirements

-Assist manufacturing representative in compiling data, Supplier Quality Process Improvement. Participation in Progress Review/Management Review meetings for system improvement

-Work with the Manufacturer, to develop and implement corrective action plan, corrective and preventive actions. Monitor and ensure compliance to Inspection and Test Plan including schedule of events and required notifications

-Implement inspection criteria, procedures and Project Inspection Plan. Monitoring implementation of Quality Management systems, WPS, QPs, Welding, NDT Procedures, Specifications and procedures. Confirm application of the QA Manual in Line with ISO Quality System.

-Provide direct support for Project Quality Manager.

-Coordinate and support all shop activities for Client witness and hold points. Investigates and adjusts construction and customer concerns and complaints regarding quality.

-Verify EOMR documentation is compiled in accordance with APW requirements

-Issue weekly status report

-Auditing for Quality Systems of the Suppliers.

-In addition, we are attempting to get additional shop resources for the following activities. However, it may be necessary to perform some the following too:

-Strategic assignment - assessment of current situation and development of collaborative process improvement plan covering:

-Assess and categorize current quality concerns and workmanship issues. Develop and implement quality concerns and workmanship issues reporting tool/metric to track effectiveness of actions to improve

-Fill the gap and be the conduit between Quality and Manufacturing to facilitate immediate implementation of corrective actions

Project Quality Manager Duties:

-Leading the multi-discipline quality team (welding & QA & QC engineers, welding & NDT & painting inspectors, Drafts man, supervisors) in additional to subcontractors.

-Monitor and ensure maintenance of project quality standards during construction, installation and commissioning, and to actively engage in planning and work management, together with the QA/QC departments at project site. Issue general work instruction, supervision of progress and analyzing results consequences apparent within the workdays.

-Day to day Management the Quality Control activities and support the inspection team in Site welding inspection (material trace-ability, Dimension, Visual, Welding, joint configuration, preheat, cleaning, application of the WPS's, final inspection and develop the final punch list) in order to ensuring application of Standards, Specification in safe and reliable operations.

-Managing and scheduling of all required inspection and NDE activities and through contractors in well–defined practices& procedures. Provide both leadership and hands on inspection and maintenance.

-Implement inspection criteria, procedures and Project Inspection Plan. Review and monitoring implementation of Quality Management systems and confirm application of the QA Manual in Line with ISO Quality System.

-Coordinate with the contractors QA/QC, Inspection & NDT group for the different activities. Spot review NDE interpretation, monitoring the quality systems including Quality Control Procedures and Plans for construction projects. Lessoning with contractors QA related issues.

-Performing internal quality audits. Leading the company for ISO 9001 and 14001. Handling all quality issues with project management and engineering, procurements, etc. in Management review meetings for system improvement. Setting up and providing quality training for the project personnel. Disposition of Non-conformances and Implementation of Corrective actions.

-Auditing for Quality Systems of Contractors. Planning and conducting external QA Audits of Contractors for different activities. Assisting in Regulatory bodies. Reviews of and QA requirements of Critical components. Review of Qualification and Training of contractor QA Engineers.

-Supervising all new flow-lines / well connections activities as multi-discipline activities regarding Quality Control. Interfaces with procurement, engineering and vendor to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems and/or concerns.

-In additional to

-Provide technical support, review in the area of QA/QC to the Project Team

-Prepare the WPS's, PQR's & WQT's for wide range of material (Carbon Steel, Low Alloy Steels, Alloy steels, Stainless Steels, Low Temperature, Monel etc.) using manual, automatic and semi-automatic welding processes (: SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GMAW, SW etc.). Prepare the PWHT procedure and welding sequence

-Prepare, reviewe the inspection & test plan (ITP), inspection, Audit checklists, NDT procedures versus the specifications, Codes, P&I drawings.

-Support in preparing the hydro test loop packages based on the P&I and isometric drawings. This job included dividing/merging of loops according to the specific situation requirements, arrange Loops Inspection with Client and preparing/providing the hydro certificates for final approval.
