JOB DESCRIPTION:
REGULATORY PHARMACIST FUNCTIONS
-Responsible for representing the company to external regulatory agencies.
-Responsible for license and product registration application.
-Responsible for enforcing compliance activities of the company.
CLINICAL PHARMACIST ‘FUNCTIONS
-Reviews all medication orders in the chart daily.
-Writes down medication profile of each patient daily in a form.
-Checks appropriateness of the drug ordered its frequency, mode and route of administration.
-Notifies the prescribing doctor immediately for clarification in case there are observed deviations.
-Works closely with the nurse prior to administration of the drug.
-Assesses and recommends to the doctor, issues related to drug-drug interaction, drug-food interaction, etc.
-Helps in identifying adverse drug interaction and recommends solutions.
-Educate patient prior to discharge.
DISPENSING PHARMACIST ‘FUNCTIONS
COMPOUNDING AND DISPENSING PRESCRIPTIONS
Compounds and dispenses prescriptions accurately. Fills and dispenses prescriptions of tablets, galenicals and chemicals carefully double-checking as to correctness. Dispenses Dangerous Drugs in accordance with approve requirements using due care and sound judgment.
RECORDING
Records prescriptions in the Prescription Book. Records accurately deliveries and prescriptions for dangerous drugs and exempt preparations in the Dangerous Drugs Book and Additional Opium Book respectively. Seeing to it that the recorded balance and actual stocks tally and files prescriptions on respective folders.
PREPARATION OF SOLUTIONS AND GALENICALS
Prepares sufficient stock solutions and galenicals needed in the section.
PACKING MEDICINES AND OTHER PHARMACEUTICAL
PRODUCTS
Prepares folding boxes, RX bottles, labels and other materials needed in the section. Repacks tablets, galenicals and chemicals and sufficient quantity that ensure fast service. Changes old labels of stock bottles.
PRICE UPDATE
Updates prices of drugs, galenical preparations and other pharmaceutical items in the RX section.
DRUG RETAILING
Attends to customers need with prompt, accurate and sufficient service.
OTHERS
Is available to step into flexible, short term assignments whenever help is needed in related job functions as directed by immediate superior. Assists in maintaining a systematic arrangement of display of stocks, arrange alphabetically within reach, external and internal preparations are displayed separately.
