Manages and coordinates activities of Findlay Main Plant Engineering Department, including (but not limited to) product engineering, process engineering, tooling, costing, program management and manufacturing engineering. Reporting to the Vice President
Supports engineering activities at other Superior Trim divisions as required including but not limited to new product launches, capital equipment justification / purchases, and work flow / plant layout.
Travel to support of satellite facilities.
Oversees and coordinates with account managers costing activities as they relate to new product RFQ’s and engineering changes. Activities would include final preparation of all customer RFQ responses and review with President / CEO. Once quotes are submitted, you would closely with the Account Manager to support follow up discussions and questions as they relate to the quote.
Participates and leads new and current customer presentations / visits including but not limited to overall Superior Trim capabilities, plant tours, process explanation and other technical information. These visits / presentations could be on site at any of the Superior Trim facilities and / or at customer designated location(s).
Works closely with Main Plant Manager and Production Supervision on troubleshooting, process flow / layouts, labor efficiency improvements and other product / process improvements.
Other activities could include (but are not limited to) participation in customer mandated cost reduction efforts, product packaging design, internal WIP reduction, ergonomic issues, Union meetings as they relate to potential grievances regarding incentive rates, and product quality improvement.
