BMO Bank of Montreal - Senior Application Software Developer - Apr. 2010 – Present

Working at BMO Insurance in Toronto. My responsibilities include upgrading many insurance applications from VB6 and SQL 2000 to VB.Net using the latest .Net framework and SQL 2008/2012. Converting many DTS packages into SSIS packages. Creating SQL stored procedures, views, triggers and UDFs for new functionalities. Setting up SQL profilers for SQL performance tuning.

Working as the lead developer for fixing and upgrading many Insurance printing applications using VB.Net, Active Reports, Crystal Reports and Microsoft SQL Server. The print Engine is a core component in the day to day business activities like issuing whole life or term policies, printing insurance statements, renewal notices, bills and tax letters. The printing applications interact with AS400 to get policies info and transfer them into SQL database then it uses Visual Studio solutions along with Active Reports and Ghost Script to generate PDF reports and print reports to be mailed to the clients.

Project: Enterprise Incentive Management (EIM)

My duties included working with a team of senior technical analysts from an on-site vendor (SunGard) for implementing SunGard iWorks Enterprise Incentive Management System (EIM) which is used for administering the distribution and compensation for all product lines in the insurance business. The solution was implemented using Visual Studio 2008, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, WCF and .NET Framework 3.5.

Project: Barton & Bolton Unit Value Trade (PAM for UVT)

I led the analysis, development and deployment of this application which reads fund prices from external sources and updates it into various bank systems. I worked closely with the vendor Princton Financial Systems. The solution was implemented using CA WA, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and MS Access 2010.

Canaccord Capital Inc. - Production Support Developer - Dec. 2007 – Apr. 2010

Worked at Canaccord Capital in Toronto. My responsibilities include responding to the needs of department heads by creating software solutions and SQL reports that improve their management capabilities. Project: Canaccord Research Portal

The solution was implemented using BizTalk 2006, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, ASP.Net 2.0, WSS 3.0, MOSS 2007.

Project: Fixed Income Platform - BondOne

My duties included working with various vendors to implement and deploy BondOne which is a real-time fixed income sales, trading and offering system. We`ve deployed a set of adaptors that implement electronic trading by connecting BondOne and external systems ECNs including CanDeal, BloomBerg, TradeWeb, Freedom, Shorcan, CBID. The system also publishes trades from BondOne to Can PX, PARAMAX and Dataphile.

Microsoft Canada (as a vendor from Navantis Inc.) - Software Developer - Sep. 2002 – Dec. 2007

Worked at Microsoft Canada head office located in Mississauga. Worked as a lead developer for the Canadian web development team. Worked also as a web project manager, I was responsible for all the Canadian MSDN web site activities including coding web applications, designing and architecting several projects. Managed a small development team in Sri Lanka, the team consists of two developers, two production persons and one quality assurance person.

Project: Microsoft CanadaWeb Intranet

Our team has designed, architected, developed, tested and deployed a a comprehensive intranet solution for the Canadian Microsoft subsidiary employees including document management, HR self-service and a variety of other activities. The solution was implemented using Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Web Services, Visual Studio .NET.

Our team has developed a system to allow non-technical users to change and manage their own sections on the website without the knowledge of HTML in both languages. This has sped up the time it takes Microsoft employees to publish new information through the web. Our team has also created a dynamic system that pulls the latest changes from Corp website in terms of pricing and products’, guaranteeing the information is up to date without any user activity required. The solution was implemented uisng ASP.NET, C#, CMS.

Project: MEF (Marketing Execution Framework)

I’ve led the architecture, design, implementation and deployment of MEF tool which helps reduce the gap between the planning and the execution, clarify the existed process, provide visibility and reporting to all marketing activities. The soultion was implemented using InfoPath, C#, SharePoint, SQL Server, SQL Reporting Services.

Project: SPORT (Sales Productivity & Opportunity Reporting Tool)

Participated in the design and development of this application which acts as a sales forecasting tool for the sales department. The tool is vital in viewing the business indicators such as lost opportunities, top opportunities, View product group performance..etc. The soultion was implemented using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, C#

Participated in the development of the Sales Compensation Calculator which improved the operational efficiencies of Microsoft Corporate Sales divisions. The tool included a user friendly interface (web pages), a Workflow Engine, a simple to use reporting module. This application was rolled out internationally and it was implemented using Visual Studio .Net, ASP.Net, C#, Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Project: CanadaHelps Charity Portal

I`ve lead the design and development of an e-commerce enabled Web application for receiving donations online solution which uses Microsoft SQL Server 2000 to allow a more robust e-commerce charity-donation capability than had previously been provided by the existing Oracle infrastructure. By using Microsoft-based tools, we were able to keep the cost of development to a minimum and deployed in record time. The site was completed in under three months. The solution was implemented using Microsoft Content Management Server 2001, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000.

I’ve participated in the development of a web site which would allow Aramark to better interact with their Canadian customers. The website eCPS.ca, allows Aramark to provide stable pricing, and consistent quality information about their products and services. It also features a searchable directory of suppliers and distribution centers. The solution was implemented using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, Active Server Pages, Microsoft Visual Basic, COM.
