Professional Profile
Currently, I am seeking employment to expand upon the clinical knowledge base acquired through 7.5 years of Gastroenterology (GI). Ideal opportunities include: any hospital based specialty, research, education, management, program development and implementation, pain management, addiction services or psychiatry services. The goal of all care provided is assisting the individual, with any limiting ailment, achieve the highest quality of life possible.
Through my role as an NP, I provided GI consults, plans and follow up care to individuals both in acute and community settings. Though the basis for visits were of primary GI symptomatology, often the cause was compounded or caused by but not limited to psychiatric, rheumatological, endocrine or hematological/cardiovascular conditions. Pain is a common complaint associated with the GI tract. Proper identification, work up and management of the GI and pain symptoms help the patient to achieve a more consistent higher level of functioning. Establishing trust, being an active and astute listener, educating when appropriate and involving the patient and family in the care plan help focus goal driven care. Appropriate collaboration and referral based on objective and subjective information were implanted as necessary.
