•Contracted as an Occupational Health Technician with the Bioenvironmental Engineering unit at Offutt AFB.
•Acted as Corporate Safety Director for an industrial HVAC construction and service company with seven facilities in four states. Refined the organization’s EHS program to address issues ranging from regulatory compliance to enhancing the employee safety culture with grassroots involvement programs. Training development, behavior based safety solutions, auditing, incident management, industrial hygiene (air quality, water, noise monitoring), hazardous material management, risk analysis, and more.
•Worker’s Comp costs decreased by 50% after 3 yrs.
•Nearly 60% reduction in OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR).

Environmental Health & Safety Technician 2008 - 2012
Assist the Compliance Manager in all aspects of safety and environmental concerns.
•EHS program monitoring, data collection and management, retrieval and compilation for submitting compliance, auditing, and regulatory correspondence with the appropriate federal, state and local agencies. Development, revision and/or review of EHS related procedures and programs in compliance with OSHA regulations. Some of the areas managed - safety training material development and presentation, hazardous material, hazard communication, fire protection systems, cooling and wastewater testing, workplace auditing, noise and air sampling.
•Launched the redevelopment of the Employee Involvement Safety Program to increase employee contributions to facility safety through hazard reporting, safety suggestions, and workplace inspections. Through this program over 700 safety risks were identified with more than 90% having corrective action taken in the first year.
•Designed and implemented a site health and wellness program to address musculoskeletal injuries which resulted in a 50% reduction in this injury category in the first year and grew into a corporate wellness program.
•Revised the facility Emergency Action Response Plan, provided training to 145 employees, and coordinated mock emergency scenario drills. This fostered the formation of a trained Emergency Response Team (Confined Space Rescue certified).
•Environmental monitoring included Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan inspections, training, and documenting with local, state and federal agencies, reporting observable visible emissions tests with the Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources, greenhouse gas reporting, and waste stream recycling program development.
•Volunteered to coordinate Progressive Agriculture Safety Day events: managing volunteers, soliciting sponsors, providing valuable safety information to children in a fun and interactive learning environment.

•Assistant Lead Petty Officer Supervising seven junior Corpsmen in Primary Health Department while also managing the immunizations clinic.
•Created and implemented standardized method to stock inventory and supply, all while processing patients.
•Developed a command reporting system which allowed Commanding Officers to identify and correct medical readiness deficiencies, increasing base readiness (approx. 3500 service members) by 34% in 18 months.
