Senior Software/System Engineer

Developed software for HUMS (Health Usage Monitoring System) in C++ running on VxWorks RTOS. The system is used to monitor helicopter engine performance to assist in predicting the maintenance schedules for the helicopters. The HUMS is used in US Army and Bell helicopters. HUMS software development has followed RTCA-DO-178B FAA Standard.

Designed and developed C/C++ software for helicopter signal simulator (SIL) to generate analog vibration signals, Military 1553, ARINC-429, ARINC-717 bus data on PC with graphical user interface (GUI) controls as well as its own scripting language using MFC Visual C++ and LabWindows/CVI. The SIL system is mainly used in HUMS software development and has been approved by Army customers for system test.

Design LabWindows software to control external devices and National Instrument cards. The software also controls switches and 7-segment LEDs on the test-bench front panel to support manual and automatic system testing.

Developed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for effective automation production checkout on newly built HUMS units using the SIL system.

Developed system test plans and designed test cases and test procedures based upon system requirements for HUMS in accordance with FAA software development guidelines and approved by Army and Bell customers.
