Responsible for overseeing assigned GRYD (Gang Reduction & Youth Development) ensuring the program is fulfilling the Scope of Services and that the program is in compliance based on the Contract. Train and supervise Case Managers and Crisis Intervention Workers. Ensure staff are meeting the mandated expectations based on the contract such as number of clients, workshops and client referrals for services. Attend community meetings with neighborhood councils, Mayor’s office, LAPD, GRYD Office and collaborate with many other community based organizations. Present power point presentations to high school students and administrators. Oversight of the recruitment of local at risk youth, probationers, students and families affected by gang violence.

Oversee program activities to include developing creative concepts that promote awareness and change. Conducted intake assessments and prepared case plans for families who were homeless, identified as part of the LGBT community and youth on Probation and in Foster Care. Weekly in home outreach visit to go over case plan. Supervised interns and implemented programs, audit case files, organize community meetings and conducted staff trainings. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports. Mentored families suffering with mental health issues, domestic violence, anger management, addictions, teen pregnancy and environmental factors to include issues associated with poverty. Organized, advertised and monitored community events such as the Weed and Seed grant program.

Deputy Probation Officer I

February 1999 – July 2004

Department of Mental Health – Lake Hughes, CA

Supervise juveniles who were sentenced to boot camp. Oversight of the girls unit. Prepared court reports, interacted with the court system as a liaison for client placed in the residential program. Case management functions to include, planning daily activities, physical training, individual and group counseling sessions and a complete evaluation of their behaviors as legal documentation for court processing. Responsible for overall supervision within the residential treatment program.
