WORK HISTORY:
Overall experience of almost 6 years (over 4 years post internship):
From the 20/12/2006 – 03/07/2007: Medical officer in general practice department in Ombada Teaching Hospital-Khartoum. It is a relatively big, Public Secondary hospital, and as implied by name it is a teaching hospital. It accommodates more than 500 beds in deferent units with Patient/Nurse ratio of 10/1. It runs the following units:
oMedicine: Cares for all medical patients as far as 2ry Hospital (150 of beds).
oGeneral Surgery: Cares for all Surgical patients as far as 2ry Hospital (100 of beds).
oOrthopedic surgery: Cares for all Trauma and orthopedic patients as far as Secondary Hospital. It accommodates around 50 of beds.
oPediatrics: Cares for all Pediatrics patients as far as 2ry Hospital (100 of beds).
oObstetrics and gynecology: Cares for all Obstetric and Gynecological patients as far as Secondary Hospital. It accommodates around 100 of beds.
*In addition to the ER and Trauma unit and ICU. There are also surgical and obstetric & gynecology OT complex.
*I’d being working as a Full time GP in ER, OT and Words of the 4 major departments (Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetric and Gynecology), reporting to the General Medical Director. The followings were my duties / responsibility:
