April 2012 – Present

Directing a 38 member staff of engineers, construction mechanics, building maintenance technicians, custodians, laundry, and grounds personnel for a 500 acre campus dedicated to non-human primate research and the care and well-being of over 5,000 animals. Strategic and Master planning for the division. Extensive knowledge of creating, forecasting, and managing large construction/maintenance budgets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to reviewing engineering protocols, conducting employee evaluations, maintaining and overseeing that all OSHA safety guidelines are being observed and training is conducted on a regular basis, and overseeing all bio-safe and hazard materials handling operations. Work includes planning and negotiating with parish and local government entities on capital improvements to the center.

Boyd Gaming (Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino- Shreveport, LA) Facilities & EVS Manager

Responsibilities included supervising multiple departments consisting of a staff of 78 supervisors, leads, and specialized maintenance and engineering technicians on a 24/7 basis. Recruiting, staffing, and evaluating all existing as well as new employees. Responsible for forecasting, establishing and maintaining budgets; monitoring and overseeing the performance of the departments through using the “HOT SOS” work order and PM program (logging approximately over 4000 maintenance repairs annually); authorizing and approving purchases; bidding, contracting, and negotiating work on improvements as well as maintenance work; energy management; maintaining and improving the physical plant, and extensive kitchen remodels. Was able to reduce maintenance expenses and utility costs by as much as 15% per annum.

Pinnacle Entertainment (Boomtown Hotel & Casino – Bossier City, LA) Front Office Manager (TEMPORARY)

December 2008 – July 2009

Was responsible for all front office, environmental cleaning services, valet, bell services, laundry, and housekeeping departments, a total of over 100 staff members. Established and maintain budgets, oversaw ordering of all supplies, responsible for all staffing and management issues relative to my departments. Wrote, analyzed, and negotiated bid packages, subcontracted entire project thru offsite and building phases. Provided detailed backup for loan packages. Met weekly with staff to oversee status of project, oversaw safety meetings, reviewed field work, and continually reviewed project for value engineering opportunities.

Oversaw and planned a $12M expansion and remodel of a 30 room boutique resort hotel. My responsibilities included meeting and providing documentation to lending groups for loan packages; working with the planning department by attending council and staff meetings to obtain approvals; establishing the scope of work with architects and engineers; establishing project scope, budgets and schedules for lenders; and met with lender’s agents to discuss financials, loan release programs, and monitored the status of the project. Instituted an improved work order program to quantify and prioritize repairs to minimize downtimes of equipment and guestrooms.

June 1987 – June 1989

Worked as owner’s representative overseeing multiple restaurant, kitchen and casino projects during a $350M expansion of the property. I was one of a staff of 5 individuals each having roughly $85M in improvement projects during the course of construction. Worked with architects, engineers, and various contractors and subcontractors planning and implementing the designs thru the completion of the construction work and turnover. Maintained constant interaction with engineering, IT, gaming, F&B outlets and associated departments to minimize impacts during a 24/7 remodeling program.
