RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify and analyze key issues, develop messages, conduct media training, target specific audiences, ensure legally mandated public involvement requirements are met, recommend methods of delivery, and measure and evaluate results. Develop short- and long-term plans, policies, directives, and operating instructions. Coordinate products and services for customers and outside agencies. Stay abreast of developments in methodology and technology. Maintain skills necessary to enhance multimedia program. Develop training program, deployment plan, and cross-utilization training for traditional guardsmen.
Work directly with the unit’s Community Manager and part-time Public Affairs Officer on all public relations, communications and outreaches. Help establish relationship with local civic leaders, businesses and schools. Develop public presentations with the use of video, PowerPoint and multimedia technology. Handle media relations, press releases and press conferences.
Manage Public Affairs resources, purchasing, equipment and personnel. Direct the production of video based media to meet customer requirements. Write and direct scripts. Decide how best to obtain the objectives of the program through use of normal and special equipment, lighting effects, digital video effects and sound effects. Manage the production of pre-press materials for newsletters, pamphlets, leaflets for public affairs, community services, and other Wing functions. Manage the production and printing of the unit’s local publication “The Skibird”. Develop and manage the unit’s public web site. Manage the unit’s photographic and Graphics studio. Maintain and operate the unit’s closed circuit television (CCTV) network. Provide distance-learning capabilities for the unit’s Training Office. Manage the maintenance and operation of Warrior Network downlink equipment and systems to meet mission requirements. Implement and maintain Video Teleconferencing (VTC) capabilities.
Enforce safety procedures. Observe all safety rules and regulations.
