Designed and typeset ads for weekly free newspapers in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. I worked with the salespeople to design newspaper ads to meet the needs of the customer. Programs included InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark Xpress and Acrobat. Edited and set the majority of the editorial used in the papers. Was entirely responsible for the weekly recipe section of the papers which included selecting categories, entries to be printed and winners of the week. Uploaded pages to the printer using their FTP site.
Quad Graphics – Hartford, Wisconsin

Part time finishing technician. Responsibilities include loading feeder pockets, inspecting and stacking final product.
SAS-E Ink Printing – Charleston, South Carolina
I was responsible for typesetting and design for two very busy print shop locations in the Charleston area. I assisted the customers in coming to a final design and created everything from business cards to brochures using PageMaker, CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Photo Paint and Quark Xpress. I also used Plan First to produce quotes and work orders, placed paper orders for jobs and produced the press schedule for the pressman.
Cross Creek Publishing – Charleston, South Carolina I produced ads and page layouts for two weekly newspapers, “The Catalyst” and “The Airlift Spirit.” I worked with the salespeople to determine what information and look the customer wanted in their ad using PageMaker.
Print South – Charleston, South Carolina
Designed various print media including newspaper ads, mailers, newsletters, business cards, etc. All were created on a Macintosh using PageMaker, OFoto and Photoshop. I assisted customers in determining design layouts.
Belk – Charleston, South Carolina
Part time employment which included sales, assisting and checking out customers and some stocking in a department store atmosphere.
Social Security Administration – Milwaukee, Wisconsin While in college, I worked part time at Social Security as part of the work/study program. I assisted the Claims Representatives in filing, computer input, making copies and other general office duties. Was in charge of filing and organizing over 1,000 claims folders. Education
