I am a PMO Director, certified (PMP) Project Manager and Agile Scrum Master with over 30 years IT industry experience as a PM and Project Management Office (PMO) leader and a track record of delivering projects on-time, on-budget and to the client’s specifications/satisfaction. In my career I have been the head of a Project Management Office (PMO) and managed projects of various: Size (staffs in excess of 60 and budgets surpassing $8MM); Platforms/environments (Mainframe, Web-based, .Net, Client/Server, Lotus Notes, Citrix, customization of vendor packages); Industries (Banking, Insurance, Public Utilities, Automotive); and, Methodologies (traditional SDLC waterfall, Agile).

I have an expert level knowledge of the PMI Knowledge Areas; 30+ year track record demonstrating effective utilization of these techniques; and, The relationship skills to ensure these processes are employed practically and proficiently. In this regard, I will establish an impactful “PM Mindset”, as opposed to governing use of a “PM Toolset”, and in doing so, will eliminate unproductive bureaucratic PM processes and establish a cadre of “leaders” as opposed to “managers” which will deliver a successful project portfolio.

Highlighted PMO/PM Experiences

MBFS PMO – Led the successful on-time, on-budget completion of 20+ projects via PM mentoring, development of Schedule, Budget, Risk, Stakeholder Analysis and Communication templates and models and establishment of key performance metrics. These results, and the presentation of PM processes in an understandable and “common sense” approach, resulted in management acceptance of project management as a value added and necessary means to project success.

Comerica “Notes for Branches” – Delivered Lotus Notes to Comerica’s Retail Branch Banking system, on-time and on-budget. I was assigned as a successor PM on this initiative which was struggling due to poor leadership and team dysfunction. Through my leadership, PM competence and interpersonal skills, team unity was established via focus on a common vision and a collective sense of ownership and commitment to each other. The client identified the project as a “train wreck” prior to my leadership, and later cited the completion of this project as a major company achievement.

FCNBD PMO/Internet Bank – Head of the Electronic Banking PMO. Management of the bank’s electronic banking project portfolio and PM staff. Led the successful on-time, on-budget of a 30+ multi-located staff, $4MM, Internet Bank initiative

CSM Cornerstone – Development of a .Net data analysis system for CSM Auto. Brought in as a successor PM when the project was 3 months behind. Under my leadership, the project was completed on-time. Received a company service award based on my leadership of this project.
