PROJECT : Fabrication and Fault Diagnosis of Gear box through Motor Current Analysis.

DISCRIPTION :

The basic aim of the project is to find fault of the gear box. For this the arrangement is made in order to predict the gear ratio of the gearbox and to get the motor current signature of the input motor. The motor is made to run in various RPM which is controlled by the Variable Frequency Drive. Mechanical load is given to the gearbox. The motor is run on three different speeds at 500, 1000 and 2000 RPM respectively and the speed of the driven shaft is measured using a Tachometer. 4 such readings were taken for all the 4 different gears and the results are tabulated for different gear ratios. Motor current v/s input speed are plotted from the results and analyzed.
