SUMMARY: As an Administrative Assistant, I've had the opportunity to work for some of the most interesting individuals in the corporate environment. I have adopted many of their best ideas in solving various problems. I had the “can do” attitude before that phrase became popular. I still do.

EXPERIENCE: from March 2003 to April 2015, I was employed at BP as the Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE) Assistant.. My supervisors were responsible for all aspects of safety governing the Houston office personnel. For about five of those years they were also responsible for HSSE on a few of the platforms (ThunderHorse, Marlin, etc). My tasks included monitoring the employees completion of their mandatory HSSE training, keeping BP in compliance. BP would be audited on a regular basis by our government. BP has a complex computer system for all this training – some is on-line and some are classroom settings. The on-line system would be problematic on a daily basis and so I became the “go ask” person for help. Although the department hired only geologists, geophysicists, physicists, the computers presented the biggest challenges for them. I also had other duties – setting up meetings, getting conference rooms (since it is all connected to the computers this also became problematic). Ordering lunches. BP is also very involved with the employees well-being, so “away day” events were planned and I was the event planner, of course, everything was budgeted. I was responsible for some of our employees on the 13th and 14th floors, some days I just couldn't wait for elevators, so I took the stairs. If safety or security was involved - I was there. Floor Fire Warden - that was me. I was pretty busy, so I've taken some time off for me.

Before BP, I worked for different temporary employment agencies. One agency sent me to Arco Pipelines where I was responsible for entering revisions, printing and controlled distribution of the facility manuals. This was before Arco was incorporated into BP.

Before that I worked for Coastal Corp (now El Paso Energy). I was the Procurement Liaison between vendors, outside engineering firm and our buyers on a two-year gas-transmission plant in Aruba. I prepared the purchase orders with tech specs, blue prints. Audit time – we were perfect.

And before that I worked for Chromalloy American Corp in San Antonio, as an Executive Secretary for the Marketing and Engineering departments for this refurbishment facility for jet engines..

For a short time I worked as the Medicaid Coordinator between the residents, hospital administrators, and the State of Florida. We had to make sure the applications were above-board – no fraud.

I took dictation from Houston Police Department officers in the field, regarding auto theft.

Also worked in Las Vegas for a start-up business, preparing brochures, advertisement. Acted as the general contractor on a building renovation project where I gathered bids, designed showroom, supervised workmen, prepared financial reports. I was the “Jill” of all trades.
