Managed and coordinated the general accounting unit within the department. The unit is responsible for the proper recording and reporting of all financial transactions of the County, and the County’s blended and discretely presented component units and other entities whose cash is maintained in the County Treasury.

Prepared the County’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards for fiscal years 2006 through 2015. The CAFR and Single Audit reports may be viewed at www.yolocounty.org.

Prepared the annual State Controller’s financial transactions reports for the County and for approximately 40 special districts.

Acted as a resource and technical expert for County departments, special districts and staff on accounting procedures; interpreted and explained state and local laws, and clarified the legality of expenditures charged against County and special district funds.

Developed and implemented new accounting policies and procedures as required to comply with State and Federal regulations and Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statements.
