Senior Staff Engineer, Reservoir / Operations, East TX / North LA (2014 to 2016)

Accountable for mentoring engineers and providing continuous improvement efficiencies, reserve evaluations, recompletion, plug and abandonment and non-operated proposal assessments, controlling down time, and cutting costs. Monitored wells that might be affected by horizontal well completions.

Reduced workflow process time by 25% for future drilling locations, as project manager for continuous improvement for East Texas and Louisiana. Collaborated with cross-functional teams, eliminating steps in well review to cut approval time and create better understanding of processes.

Mentored and trained members of 12 teams in process revisions, discussing overall big picture of group interactions and importance of individual roles, process timing and completion of procedures to reach scheduled goals.

Advised team and field office on water sourcing and permitting, wetland management, mitigation bank development, wetland and pipeline permitting for Texas and Louisiana areas. Built rapport with environmental companies and local and federal government agencies to reach and maintain compliance.

Managed and secured over 120 annual water permits and 5 long-term contracts for water sources for Carthage and Eaglebine drilling and completion operations by partnering with local and regional water authorities.

Collaborated with 7 local groundwater conservation districts, 4 river authorities and 6 federal agencies, establishing permits for water withdrawal and securing over 50 million barrels of water per year for fracturing.

Directed ongoing operations to develop 2 mitigation banks to service East Texas area, allowing for drilling of hundreds of future wells. Managed wetland and floodplain permit process for drilling and infrastructure.

Engaged with agencies to coordinate and permit over 1000 miles of Class 1 and 2 pipelines per year. Coordinated with field offices and teams to establish protocol and compliance with regulations. Mentored groups in Houston and district offices to explain and interpret rules.
