Job Title: CAD/CAM Years Employed: 1997 to 2011

Organization Name: RockTenn

Customer’s would send us a product I would design a carton around that product using Artios Cad Software then I would output that design to a Kongsberg plotter and make samples to send to the customer for their approval, if they wanted to make changes they would email me or mark the sample and return it to me with the changes they wanted made and I would redo the samples as they requested and send them back to them. Once they received the new samples they would test them on their equipment and either approve or make more changes. Then once approved they would send us a signed sample back and we would start production on the order for that customer. Then I would take that design and install it into a layout nesting it to fit our printers and cutters in house taking into consideration the best way to lay it out to make it strip, blank, and run on our equipment. I would then take that layout and send it to the plate shop so they could add the graphics to it when they come in from the graphics house. I would then do a Die Vinyl on the Kongsberg plotter and approve it with the signed sample by the customer to make sure the carton we were running and the approved sample was the correct one. Then I would program and output the die to the laser then burn it, then send the file to the die shop so they could knife the die also trouble shoot any problems the die shop would have with the die file so the rule bender would work correctly. Then I would program the stripping units for this die output them to the laser and burn them. I would also program and run the counter’s using the Data Tech 1200 Counter Cutter. I would also program and cut all the coating blanket’s for the printing department using the approved sample with the area’s marked for no coating by the customer service rep.

Task and equipment that I was responsible for programming and running include a 1500 watt PCI Laser, a Data Tech 1200 counter cutter and a Data Tech plotter, a Kongsberg plotter, Elcede counter cuter, also used an Adams rule bender to bend the knife and rule and install it in the die board after knifing the die I would also rubber it and get it ready to go into production. I used the following programming software, ARTIOS CAD, PCIQ. The following software was used daily Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, Excel, I also have a vast knowledge of computers and how they work, installing programs and trouble shooting those programs. I am very detail oriented and have great organizational skills that would be a great plus to any company.
