PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Caterpillar, Peoria, IL Aug ‘10 – Present

Program Management engineer Dec ’15 – Present

Created a product catalog for after treatment cooling products which comprised of the entire marine, machine, petro and locomotive module arrangements and lower level part numbers.

Created weekly metrics report which focused on the design review dates and the upcoming prototype builds which comprised of design freeze, prints release, procurement, build start dates for the following year. Also created monthly metrics which comprised of tracking the print quality, NPI and CPI issues, product cost vs cost target, deviations, DAV pass rate and cost reduction projects.

Assisted in the planning of budget report for the year 2017 which included considering every group separate work load and appointing the appropriate measure of spending plan.

Worked with the cost reduction team and bought up measures for cost reduction ideas to meet the cost target for all the after treatment programs.

Conducted an AVID event which focused on the cost reduction ideas consisting of material changes, unused features, and simplification by combining parts, tolerance and surface finish callouts, process changes for the marine and locomotive engines.

Design engineer May ’12 – Dec’15

Phase Tank Design

Worked as a design engineer for designing and modelling the phase tank and routed the coolant lines to injector. Designed several other components such as injector mount, insulation covers etc.

Bill of material.

Expertise in creating revision controlled Bill of material using python script in Creo for several module arrangements in marine, machine and locomotives applications.

Supplier coordination for on time material delivery for proto-type builds for different applications

Advanced Product quality Planning

Have done several APQP projects with the supplier for getting quotes and also PPAP them. Planned, Acquired and installed appropriate process equipment and tooling based on design tolerances provided by the customer.

Design engineer Aug ’10 – May’12

Created new Hoses and tubes for various lines Groups.

Routed new hoses and tubes, when old machines get retrofitted, new engine is installed with changing the surrounding parts like new fuel filter, compressor, etc. by utilizing Pro/Fluid Lines, an auxiliary application in Pro/E

Worked on a Lines Improvement Project in which all Oil, Coolant, Fuel, Compressor lines were rerouted considering the standards of Fluid Lines hence improvising the lines by taking RWA, SIMS, Sales report into concern

Worked on a Cost reduction project for the lines which included minimizing the cost by rerouting the lines, contacting the suppliers, doing CPPD (Collaborative product process design) with them and getting parts ready for fit up. Also created the group drawings with hydraulic routing index.

Resolved CPI and NPI issues of fuel lines by identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions

Graduate Research Assistant, Bradley University, Peoria, IL Aug ‘09 – May ‘10

Research assistant

Provided laboratory assistance to graduate and undergraduate students during class sessions

Developed several models in Pro/E Wildfire 3.0, Pro/Mechanica and Pro/Mechanism.

Resolved errors in Pro/E models for a better design

Updated the instructions manual from Pro/E Wildfire 2.0 version to Pro/E Wildfire 3.0 for graduate and undergraduate course.

Designed and modified 3D models and 2D drawing for better improvement in design using Pro/E and performed thermal and structural analysis using Pro/Mechanica

Assisted professor in grading and evaluating the Pro/E models created by undergraduates.

Industrial Assessment center, Bradley University, Peoria Jan’08 – Aug’09

Energy Engineer
