I am certified in the following welding processes:
Stick under the API 1104 Pipe welding code.
Mig in all positions and thicknesses in mild steel plate steels.
Stick in all positions and thicknesses in mild steel plate steels and pipe.
Flux Cored wire in all positions and thicknesses in mild steel plate steels.
And Tig in vertical and horizontal thicknesses in mild steel plate steels.
I can read and write welding symbols.
Trained to weld aluminum, cast iron, and stainless steel.
Trained to safely operate oxy/acetylene systems as well as plasma cutters.
Work History
INSTRUCTOR BRIDGEVALLEY CTC MAY 2014 – CURENT DATE
I teach:
The processes of Mig, Stick, Tig, and Flux-cored welding on plate and pipe both mild steel and stainless in all positions, aluminum welding is preformed primarily by spool gun and argon gas
Welding symbol reading and writing
Metallurgy and how to properly weld carbon metals
Complex fabrication layout design
Welding blueprint reading
How to look up and read welding codes both AWS (American Welding Soceity) and API (American Petroleum Institute)
WELDING FABRICATOR/MECHANIC/HYDRAULIC SPECIALIST NARCO. INC JUNE 2007 – SEPT. 2014
Fabricator –
I built many components by blueprint, welding on mild and stainless steels on a variety of projects.
I was also in charge of a manual CNC track torch.
I ran a metal shear capable of cutting inch plate steel.
Drill Press drilling up to 3 inch diameter by 4 inches deep with the pattern being laid out by myself.
Punch Press for up to 1 inch thick steel.
personally programed an automated band saw to run.
organized/lead crews from the start to project completion.
Assembled hydraulic systems on a weekly basis.
Bending brake capable of bending 1 inch bar stock mild steel.
Skills & Abilities
Welding
Being a fabricator on shuttle cars for underground coal mining, I used the Dual shielded flux cored process as well as stick welding in open environments hot, cold, wet, and dry.
I can created oil tanks from plate steel, pipe fittings, and piping, as well as construct bracing from plate and bar stock steels to protect key components.
Fabricate mounts for various motor hangers and their accessories.
I am able to conduct repairs on other large industrial equipment including mechanics, cutting, and welding on gantry cranes, bulldozers, Excavators, fork-lifts, etc. All being done to the corresponding welding code.
MECHANICAL SKILLS
I can drill and tap holes to properly fit bolt sizes.
Repair small gasoline engines (Welding Generator combo) including the cleaning of the carburetor.
replace any major motor components.
Fully disassemble a hydraulic system, repair its O-rings, hoses, valve banks, motors, pumps, and re-assemble
it without any faults.
MANAGEMENT
I control ordering of all stock (Welding wires, steels, and all other components) for my department keeping up with inventory levels, and reordering appropriately to keep for completely running out.
I have been a crew leader of 5 people at a time.
I Instruct classes of up to 19 welders at a time.
I have taken multiple classes for professional development training (Title 9, FERPA, Classified Documentation, and Sexual Harassment).
Communication
I can speak clearly about what needs completed and why it needs completed in the fashion specified,
as well as keep personnel informed on the completion of my project.
LEADERSHIP
I lead students daily to keep them on task and help them achieve their goal of obtaining an Associate’s Degree.
Other Technical Skills
I do Non-destructive testing on welds using the red dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing.
Destructive testing using the bend test method, Tinius Olsen tensile tester, and the nick-break test for inclusion/defect detection.
I am OSHA certified with a 30 class in industrial safety and I have my id card.
I can troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
Control EPA water outlets for safe sampling and testing.
Forklift operations and their safety.
Bobcats and bulldozers on flat and unlevelled land.
Maintaining fluids of all the equipment so nothing burns up or gets damaged.
Preform fire watches after the crew leaves to make sure that it is in fact safe to leave.
CPR Certified
Hobbies:
My personal hobbies are abundant and quite broad. I enjoy fishing as my primary hobby, I go every chance I am given always hoping to catch a state record.
My second hobby is recreational riding on the dirt roads of my area hunting rare wild plants in the spring and hunting in the fall.
My third is a mix of blacksmithing where I forge knives and decorative art, and potting where I throw and kiln harden ceramics for decorative pieces.
Volunteering:
My volunteering is primarily in the summer around different water sources in my spare time. I try to clean the trash and debris from water outlets while out on my boat allowing the fishing habitat to be a safer and cleaner place for generations to come.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration of me as an option, I am rarely sick and never miss a day of work, all while maintaining a good happy personality along the way. As a part of your company I will do everything I absolutely can to better the company itself.
Have a great day
