Objective:
Seeking Chief or 1st A/E position with regular seagoing rotation. I am single parent of 2 1/2 year son and need to have seagoing rotation for planning his stay with nanny.
Work Summary:
Worked on; Motor – slow speeds, medium speeds, diesel electrics, high voltage. Gas Turbine LM2500 and Ukraine. Steam 900psi twin 60,000hp plants.
Vessel types: Bulk, Tankers, Container, RO/RO, LO/LO, Crane, MSC, Drill ships, MODU, DP supply, ocean tug, Alaska Fishing catcher processer and Ice Breaker.
Working on mechanical equipment is all I have done my entire life. It is what I love to do and this makes me very good at it.
Work Experience:
Present: onboard steam ship MSC going to shipyard
1st A/E Roy Wheat ROS Gas Turbine. Completed COI and sea trails for MSC.
Temporary Employment: Sept 20 to Dec 3, 2015
Deliver drillship Cerrado for Ocean Rig from Brazil to Aruba. Position Technical Section Leader/Chief Engineer. Job relieved entire crew and joined with entire new crew 25 people. Ready vessel for cold stack during voyage.
Laid off Transocean Drilling February 3rd 2015.
Senior Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer with Transocean: Completed OOS (Out Of Service – shipyard while offshore on anchor. Complete overhaul of drill floor equipment, generators and too many others to list here. Lasted 6 months) on the Discoverer Spirit drillship before it was stacked and most of crew was laid off. Employed with Transocean Drilling August 2011-Feb 2015. Supervising the Maintenance Department: Materials Supply Coordinator, Mechanics, Sub Sea Engineers, Marine Engineers, Electronics Technicians and Electricians. In charge of rigs budget onboard and work with asset manager onshore to achieve budget goals and planning.

Noble Drilling – Rig Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer. July 2010 to July 2011
Managing and supervising the operation, maintenance and repair of all power and propulsion machinery as well as drilling equipment on board a new 6th generation DP3-Semi-submersible MODU.
Various other oil rig drill ships Dec 2007-Jul 2011.
CIVILIAN:
2001-2007: Owner of company “Mister Rock”. Wholesale throughout Florida, retail and installation of stone products in Panama City area. Took company from concept to reality. Closed company June 2007 due to economy.
MERCHANT MARINE:
1993-2001 AMO (American Maritime Officers). Obtained Chief Engr license in 1998. Delivered USNS Dahl twin GE Gas Turbine as 1st Engineer from NASSCO.
1989-1993 SIU (Seafarers International Union).
Shipped as Electrician, Pumpman, QMED (Qualified Member of the Engineering Department) and Chief Engineer Limited.
NAVY:
1984-1988: Served in the US Navy onboard USS Guitarro SSN-665 Submarine as a Machinist Mate in “A” division. Maintained Air 4500-20 PSI, hydraulics, emergency diesel, fresh water, salt water, produce and maintain oxygen, refrigeration, hydrogen and CO2 removal and various auxiliary support equipment. Attended steam 900/1200psi engineering school but when volunteered for submarine become forward machinist. (Submarines are Nuclear powered)
Civilian:
1980-1984 Welding training: Basic courses and welding of all types and materials. Fayetteville Tech. Inst. and Flur Daniels advanced welding training nuclear power plant. Worked several shutdowns, various welding jobs and at building nuclear power plant certified all plate and pipe for stick and TIG.
