Go-Kart Events:

Designing and fabrication of a go-kart vehicle for the purpose of events. My role is designing of steering system for the Go-Kart. A member and the driver among the team of 15 for two respective events as follows,

ISIE (Indian society of innovative engineers) Go-Kart Championships held on January 2015 at Kari Motors, Chettipalayam.

ELITE Karting International Go-Kart Championship held on February 2015. Mini-Project:

Programmable Capacitive Discharge Ignition Unit:

A microcontroller equipped CDI unit that could be programmed according to the necessity of drivability and also used to identify ignition problems and troubleshooting it. The microcontroller is interfaced with a self-designed mobile application by means of bluetooth module enabling remote access from the mobile itself. It is also equipped with Anti-Theft feature. My contribution towards the project:

Carried out the testing with various iterations and plotted the graph content.

Compared the readings with the real time CDI unit of our project bike.

Finding the pros & cons of the project.

Main Project:

Design and Analysis of a modified A-Pillar in cars for enhanced visibility: A design project focusing the futuristic car A-Pillar modelling with truss arrangement which improves strength and visibility thereby reducing the accidents caused due to the blindspots in A-pillar. It also includes research and design of A-pillar with transparent materials with equal strength as that of a metal that could be the future scope of car body manufacturing. 4 different models of A-pillar are designed, analyzed and compared to prove that our design is conventional. My contribution towards the project:

Created various CAD designs with different truss arrangements using CATIA v5.

Carried out the research on practicality of applying the project.

Research on availability of materials.

Industrial Project: (Hyundai Motors India Limited, Sriperumbudur) Design of automatic model checking system for cylinder block: There are various machining process involved

inside the cylinder block for various types of engine models. And in one such process, there is a mismatch of the cylinder block and the ladder frame which causes rework in the cylinder block. This project is aimed at rectifying the mismatch and acts as a mistake proofing system. A new type of system is designed to identify the respective cylinder block and ladder frame which will reduce the rate of reworks done in the cylinder block, thus improving the efficiency of production. Rapid prototyping and reverse engineering tutoring on advanced manufacturing techniques practiced in the current scenario held at Kumaraguru College of Technology.

Employability Improvement program a three day workshop conducted by Mr.Gnanapragasam held in Kumaraguru College of Technology., tutoring manufacturing processes used at various industries.

Automotive design and career guidance conducted by MotorVikatan tutoring the scope of career in design field of automotive industries, held at Kumaraguru College of Technology.

Automotive Sketching and Styling conducted by Launchpad Academy held at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore tutored by Mr. Sathyaseelan Gangasalam, Automotive Design Head of Ashok Leyland, India. It covered the process, methods and tools used for designing an automobile including sketching and rendering, both manually and through software. Portfolio preperation and future scope of designers in automobile were also discussed.
