RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitoring of asphalt paving and all other road constructions

Inspecting micro tunneling activities, trenching, and drilling

Ensuring that HS&E induction is provided to all starters including visitors.

Investigation and reporting all incidents as per Client’s & legislative requirement ensuring that root causes are identified and remedial actions

Promptly informing Resident Engineer and safety manager/ engineer

Providing in-house SH&E training to AECOM site personnel and if necessary the contractor, to advance safe system of work on the project.

Advising members of the project team on application of the system and procedures when requested or when observations suggest such in necessary.

Checking that traffic management plans and diversions have suitable and sufficient signage’s & barricades and lighting.

Conducting emergency response plans and arrange for drill to be conducted.

Collating statistical evidence reference lost time accident and traffic accidents for populating our KPI returns and SH&E objective performance.

Conducting daily safety inspection of all work activities in assigned project area to ensure they are being carried out as par requirement of QCS, legal requirement, AECOM H&S procedures and the contractor’s health and safety plan and procedures, Risk Assessment and method statement.

Carrying out accident investigation and close out remedial action through daily follow up and reporting to resident engineer on progress made.

Conducting equipment checks on ladders, safety harnesses, false work, working at height, safety checks on trucks, earth moving equipment and cranes before starting work on site.

Liaising with the contractor’s safety personnel on deficiencies found during inspection relating to their work scope, advising how to close out each point .

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review the risk assessment and method statement (RAMS).

Attend project weekly progress meeting

Attend weekly safety meetings with the Contractor safety managers, & construction managers.

Conduct weekly safety walk through with the contractor’s safety managers and construction managers.

Conduct daily inspections/walk through with the contractor’s site safety officers

Verify legal required documents of all the operational heavy equipment’s at site.

Verify the equipment’s operators and flagmen certificates/license.

Maintain close liaison with the Contractor’s Safety personnel at site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain close liaison with the Contractor’s Safety personnel to ensure timely close-out of observations made during inspections and audits;

Submit safety inspection reports to the HSE manager;

Attend safety meetings related to construction with the Contractor in addition to internal team meetings;

Review and process safety requirements included in the Contractor’s method statements and permits;

Carry out regular site and office safety audits and inspections for all the construction related activities as directed by the deputy HSE manager;

Check & ensure that all agreed safety standards and applicable safety regulations are observed and adhered to .

Check proper maintenance, calibration and operation of all safety equipment on site and in the site office.
