Responsibilities include maintaining daily financial activity information while closing the books in three - four days which included presenting MD&A commentary. This information was supplied, within SOX Compliance, to corporate headquarters each month, quarter, and annual basis. This included the preparation of a P&L Bridge report on a weekly basis used for forecasting month end financial position which was presented to corporate finance staff as well as other division controllers. I was responsible for supervising three individuals (A/P- Payroll/HR corporate representative clerk; Material/Freight/Work Order closure processing clerk; Shipment/Invoicing clerk. Responsibilities:

General Accounting – Provide complete financial reporting (BS and P&L) and analysis to CFO and Mfg. operations on a monthly basis while also presenting a revised forecast to annual budget for future periods. Supervisor of personnel in the A/R, A/P, Manufacturing Analyst, and General Accounting positions. Project manager for annual Budgets preparation and presentation. Cost (manufacturing) Accounting – Audit of Mfg operation process which included evaluating and restructuring of BOM’s and Routers for existing and new product as necessary; Establishing and ensuring accuracy of inventory standard costs (Material – working with procurement; Labor – Time and Motion Studies (Manning time combined with machine time); & OH – Budgeted Fixed and Variable Overhead); Monthly review of manufacturing related variances (PPV, Labor, OH).

Reduced month end closing from 23 days to 3 days.

Revamped presentation format and converted from Excel Financial (Exported Presentation) to Oracle generated financial presentation

Established accurate product costs, while defining BOM’s, BOR’s and OH. Revised adjusted list pricing where necessary to meet company recommended GM percentages.

Initial reconciliation of Perpetual to book inventory. Breaking out Inventory Reserves which resided in the book inventory and not segregated. This resulted in a revision to the 2008 audited financial and an adjustment to the then 2009 financials as of June month end.

Training of manufacturing, accounting and management personnel where and when necessary in the operation flow which led to a better interpretation of financial information and more efficient business decisions.

Establish cycle counts process while making sure task is performed properly on a daily basis as well as defining the proper root cause of the inventory adjustment, and making necessary changes to the processes as needed. This resulted in the elimination of the annual physical due to high percentage of cycle count accuracy (from an initial 57% to a 97%).

Due diligence in helping establish/maintain financial information for manufacturing/distribution satellite site in N.C. (2012 for business beginning in 2013).
