Techno-Functional Analyst assigned to the CGC Infrastructure & Operations group. Initially assumed the role of an Application Support Analyst for the xMatters Software Application. Later moved to Application Support Analyst (L2) and Production Control Analyst for Global Systems.

As Application Support Analyst / Production Control Analyst for Global Systems, was responsible for the management, monitoring, testing and remediation of applications and batch processes for the global enterprise on a 24/7 basis.

• Assigned to 2nd shift Application Support (L2)/Prod Control – Monitored applications and batch processes working to meet established SLAs.

• Participated in on-call rotation to cover off-hours and holidays. Responded to Remedy Incidents and xMatters escalations as well as direct contact from associates.

• Collaborated with users, developers, app support teams and system administrators for the following:

Application issues, batch failures and delays, network outages, database issues and server issues.

• Batch remediation included the review of log files, database queries, database modifications, file updates, Unix script updates and batch process schedule manipulations.

• Problem follow-up included the authoring of Knowledge Articles detailing future remediation steps. Opening problem reports for recurring issues and leading meetings with the application teams to prevent future issues.

• Worked with the Release Team to coordinate software loads and batch scheduling changes during weekly releases.

• Aided users with general questions and instructions in the usage of their applications, and provided them with adhoc reports when requested.

• On weekends, performed post-maintenance application checkouts and provided sign-off.

• Participated in application maintenance activities for the Autosys application, including the maintenance of Unix, Perl and Python scripts. Monitored the application and performed Autosys agent installation and testing.

• Aided developers in the design and creation of their Autosys jobs.

As Application Support Analyst for xMatters, was responsible for the preparation, installation, and eventual production support of the xMatters software product.

• Worked with the xMatters Vendor team and CGC personnel to configure, test and install the xMatters software application for close to 500 user groups. After go-live, provided continuing support for the system, interfacing with the vendor, the CGC Data Ops group, and the CGC Production Control group. Created system documentation and Standard Operating Procedures docs for the CGC I&O group. Responsible for all phases of testing.

• Maintained custom xMatters software (JavaScript / JSP) for the client. Documented the software and conducted trouble-shooting of the code for raised issues. JavaScript was used to code system interfaces, notification-engine-to-user interaction scripts, as well as dynamic web page behavior. JSP (Java Server Pages) was used to build custom web pages utilizing Java standard tag libraries (JSTL) and proprietary Java Beans.

• Coded report applications (Oracle PL/SQL) to monitor system health and provide system metrics. Reports ranged from Event Activity Reports, Company Reports, Audit Reports to miscellaneous ad-hoc reports. Delivered reports in Excel spreadsheet format, utilizing formulas and macros as needed.

• Coded an ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) solution within the Pentaho Data Integration tool to mechanically upgrade user roles for all users on the system. Made use of web services and an XSLT transformation to accomplish this. Later tested and executed the update in production.

• Maintained an Issues Log for xMatters and worked with the vendor to resolve application issues. This involved analyzing data, code, and process results, as well as demonstrating problems to the vendor. Aided in the design of software solutions, and tested the software solutions prior to installation.

• Provided user support for xMatters users and managers. Managed tickets within the BMC Remedy product. Worked on a one-on-one basis with group managers to build schedules within the tool, and helped all users with configuration issues. Conducted ad-hoc training sessions in some cases.

• Contributed initially to the development of the in-house user training courseware. Later responsible for on-going changes. Also developed FAQ’s and job aids for the user community.
