Proposed in a student seminar that human peripheral benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) (now called Translocator Protein, TSPO for short), a mitochondrial outer membrane protein, could transfer small molecules, such as porphyrins, through the tunnel inside its five-helix bundle, in spring 2001 (I need to confirm this, I may not remember the details completely or accurately)

Worked out the complete cDNA sequence of TSPO in fall 2000 while in the previously published cDNA sequence, four base pairs were missed. This finding was only a few days later than the same finding of a few other scholars in America as published online

Was able to express TSPO in various E. coli expression systems. Extracted and purified the target protein through various methods, and obtained both truncated protein and a larger protein that was 6 kDa bigger than what was expected in different expression systems 4 / 10

Expressed and purified human diazepam binding inhibitor (DBI), an endogenous TSPO ligand, studied its structure by NMR and proposed its three-dimensional structure by homology modeling

Experienced in recombinant protein expression in E. coli, protein purification, recombinant DNA technology, protein immunological activity check, molecular modeling, cell culture, protein structural and functional analysis using NMR and other methods, etc.
