(Master of Engineering Final Project)
May, 2016 – August, 2016
• Worked within a team of 3 engineering students to design and implement mechanical braking system, torque control and wireless monitoring on wind turbine project
• Designed and implemented automated mechanical braking system to achieve emergency braking and parking based on the required specifications
• Designed and machined mechanical parts to install the braking system components (caliper, brake disc and actuator base) on the wind turbine nacelle
• Helped in designing a torque control subsystem development using feedforward control input and power electronics circuit for limiting the output current from generator
• Participated in operating and maintenance of the wind turbine to make sure that the required experiments run smoothly
• Participated in weekly meetings to discuss the progress with the project supervisor by preparing a report and presentation.
NX 8.5 CAD/CAM Project (Coursework project)
January, 2016 – April, 2016
• CAD: Modeled a wearable iron man helmet using CAD software (NX 8.5) which included using a free form surface modeling tools
• CAM: designed the manufacturing process using CAM software (NX 8.5) to manufacture a half mold shape using a vertical CNC machine
Optical position sensor (Coursework project) January, 2016 – April, 2016
• Designed a prototype of position optical sensor that is immune to the effect of room temperature and light
• Calibrated and tested the sensor to verify the results by collecting and analyzing the data using Arduino and Matlab Machine tool vibrations (Lab projects) September, 2015 – December, 2016
• Metal cutting coefficients and cutting forces were obtained experimentally for milling operation using the data collected from the force sensor installed on the CNC machine
• Vibration measurements of the CNC machine spindle was collected using impact hummer and FFT analyzer
• Obtained mode shapes and chatter stability curves by analyzing the measurements using Matlab and Cut-Pro Can manufacturing company visit (Transducer coursework project)
September, 2014 – January, 2015
• Arranged a visit to “Crown Beverage Cans Company” in Amman by coordinating with company
• Worked as a team leader of a group of 3 engineering students to do a report and presentation on the production line and the sensors used in the factory
Transducers Lab Projects: September, 2014 – January, 2015
• Worked on lab experiments to study the characteristics and specifications of different sensors such as LVDT, strain gauge, Thermocouple and Thermistor
• LabVIEW with DAQ system was used to collect the measurements and display it on the PC Automatic curtain (coursework project) September, 2014 – January, 2015
• Worked as a team leader of a group of 3 engineering students to design a prototype of automatic curtain
