Lennox International sold its fireplace manufacturing division to a private equity firm, which subsequently bough another fireplace manufacturer and merged the two companies. The Lennox Company was already on SAP and the other company was running a home-grown ERP system on an AS400 database. The goal of the project was to eliminate existing customized SAP process where possible and bring the other two plants up on SAP using the redesigned system.
