TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE:

Adept at diagnosing and isolating a variety of malfunctions to a component level in electrical instrumentation systems, Digital/Analog, engine and flight control electrical systems, and control systems using appropriate test equipment including but not limited to:

During normal ground operations, observed abnormal indications of GE 400 and 402 engines, troubleshot to discover an open or short of internal coils, switches, transducers or wiring .Then replace component or repair broken wiring.

Upon running daily instrument system operational tests, observed faulty system indications. Using electronic schematics and troubleshooting techniques using air data test set,to isolated the fault y instruments such as Standby compass, standby altimeter,Vertical speed indicators,Rate of climb,Attitude reference indicator(aka .meatball) and remove and replace with new parts.

Run up preform built in tests, rigging tests, of flight control and back up mechanical controls with use of memory inspects and rigging pin sets. Remove and replace flight control computers, sensors, trim motors and wing fold motors.

Conduct compass calibration of magnetic azimuth detector, backup standby compass on compass rose and perform ground alignment of inertial navigation system.

EXPERIENCE:

2005 to Present - Avionics System Technician / 1996-2004 USMC (6337)

PKL Services VMFA ( AT) 101 Miramar San Diego, CA

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of FA-18 ABCD Hornet aircraft..

Supervised and trained over 100 technicians on the proper maintenance and operation of mission essential equipment in the Avionics Division.

As CDQAR collateral duty inspector, closely managed up to 10 technicians daily in the Avionics Division Work Center, directing diagnoses and repair of non-routine malfunctions, inspecting completed work assignments / work orders (MAFs) of workers, and screen shop workload reports.
