Served as Safety Auditor and held directly responsible for the Environmental Health & Safety pre-qualification process of contractors requesting to join the PICS consortium and work for our clients.
Responsible for maintaining current knowledge and updated changes to the Code of Federal Regulations set forth by US Department of Labor in both, General Industry and Construction.
Conducted a meticulous Implementation Audit both, onsite or via WebEx, which followed the Manual Audit process and focused on recordkeeping supporting the policies, procedures and programs the contractor was audited on.
Assisted customer support representatives in verification of correct NAICS codes, SIC codes, OSHA 300 & 300A logs, and settled and/or approved any regulatory issues with contractors.
Prepared and conducted PICS 30 hour course that educated contractors and PICS employees with an introduction to OSHA & OSH Act along with several other specific hazards that may be present at any general industry work site.

•Completely updated American Apparel Safety Manual to meet Cal/OSHA’s standards in Injury and Illness Prevention Program and required Safety Programs.
•Conduct and organize all monthly Safety meetings for entire personnel in both, Spanish and English. Utilized various methods of presentation to maintain employees’ attention and implement behavioral safety within their mind set.
•Introduced and developed American Apparel’s Safety Committee with employee and upper management participation. Trained Committee members on Accident Investigation methods and how to develop corrective measures to eliminate hazards. Carried out all accident investigations and employee random drug screening. Held accountable for all Workers’ Compensation claims opened for my sites and making sure they closed as soon as possible.
•Introduced and implemented employee training specifics for their job responsibilities which focused on one-on-one training with an experienced employee & myself.
•Developed machine specific lockout/tagout processes for each individual machine that included the locations of all sources of energy, what equipment to use for lockout or tagout, and step-by-step instructions to verify energy has been eliminated.
Shultz Steel – Industrial Safety & Training Coordinator (2010 – 2011)
Oversaw and managed operations for Worker’s Compensation insurance which involved underwriting process, claims review, return to work program, job safety analysis, OSHA compliance and training, and loss prevention.
Conducted monthly Safety Meetings for three shifts, New Employee orientation, Contractor orientation and annual Audiometric Testing and Spirometry Testing for all required employees and responsible for selecting uniform, personal protective equipment, and prescription eye glass vendors and programs.
