Global Information Warehouse is Citi’s common data warehousing application supporting multiple tracks like Trade, Liquidity, Billing, AML, Global Statements delivery, Treasury vision, eCIF to name a few.
GIW caters to Citi customers, operations users, Citi’s MIS reporting requirements, feeding data to downstream systems etc.
GIW receives data from various sources like TRIMS (transactions and imaging), GPOS, TRADE ENGINE (TRIMS and BARCLAY’s) and in form of feeds
Data received by GIW is near real time data
Data received thru different interfaces like MQ, Shareplex and feeds

It involves the same front end as mentioned in Sainsbury’s Project Unity- System Testing and in addition it has CBS and CICS validations. All the account details once the account being created gets updated in CBS with some of the customer related informations.CICS stores all the informations pertaining to a customer and also the accounts linked to a customer. The customer has a unique customer customer key in CBS with which the customer informations can be viewed and knowing the accounts linked with the customer the account screens can be validated. All kind of account servicing validations performed at the front end can be evaluated in CBS.

Basically it involves two kinds of process, E-Business which is carried by call centre agents and the E-commerce which is done by the customer accessing the site by own. Creation of accounts done for customers who are existing and have online access, those existing unregistered for online banking and new one. Creation of accounts may be done as single, joint and POA. Apart from this it also involves some servicing functionalities like Standing order, Payments, IAT, Requesting cheque books, Balance enquiry, giving POA, Adding accounts and Statements.

Faster Payments Service (FPS) is a initiative to reduce payment times between different banks' customer accounts from three working days using the long-established BACS system, to near real time. CHAPS already provides limited faster-than-BACS service (by close of business that day) for 'high value' transactions, while FPS is focused on the much larger number of payments of any size up to £10,000 (£100,000 for Standing orders).It deals with three kinds of payments, SIP(Single immediate payment), SO(Standing order payments), and FDP(Future dated payments).
The Faster Payments Service will be in service for Retail and Corporate customers using different channels like Business Banking, internet and telephone. It is aimed to deliver near real time payment infrastructure capable of running 24*7.At a high level, FPS (Faster Payments System) – Testing fixed a target to test the functionality of the components Payment Hub, and divisions, via different releases. The major components of the payment hub include Payment Engine, Payment Bus, and Payment Gateway. Inbound and Outbound Faster Payments processing in payment hub were tested.
