As founding Headmaster, I was responsible for transforming an outdated CCD building into a vibrant new middle school for two hundred and fifty students (grades 5-8), and given less than three months in which to accomplish the task.
Responsibilities included: hiring all staff from maintenance and support staff through teachers and coaches; selected all texts for all subjects and grades; created all student and staffing schedules. Developed entrance exam criteria, staff evaluations, volunteer recruitment and school advertising campaign. Established and led ongoing fund raising committees. Purchased all school furnishings including desks, chairs, cafeteria tables, white boards, technological supplies, paper, pencils, pens, etc. Created state of the art library and computer lab with in-house circuit television. Introduced intramural and interscholastic sports teams and developed after school programming with over thirty offerings with more than fifty percent student participation. Instituted budget, admissions payment schedule and accounting department. Conducted all admissions interviews and tours.

Responsible for hiring all employees to staff a twenty-four hour a day, seven days a week, post-secondary program offering ten, eleven and twelve month programming options. Developed training program for all teachers and counselors as well as ongoing staff development and evaluation of staff.
