● Experience with a variety of thermal treatment processes for steel bars and tubes, including gasfired, induction, and hybrid continuous lines and gasfired batch furnaces

● Knowledge of common mechanical properties for a wide range of steel grades and typical applications

● Familiar with electric furnace steelmaking, refining, and casting processes

● Basic knowledge of tubemaking processes and nondestructive testing methods including ultrasonic, eddy current, and magnetic flux leakage

● Experience with Six Sigma statistical analysis techniques used for process control and process improvement

● Familiar with basic metallurgical failure analysis techniques

● Skilled with computer applications including JMP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
