JOB DESCRIPTION

People management role (leadership, motivation and people skills). Experience in handling a team of five to 7 members.

Responsible for managing the Airfreight department and accountable for development and profitability of the department.

Responsible for providing quality service through management of Customer Service team

Procurement and negotiation with Carriers, transporters and CHA for South India

Vendor Development and Evaluation

Specialized in handling Dangerous Goods

Internal co-ordination & review with Operations team to monitor achievement of customer's KPI's/deliverables

Support Sales in selling the Product

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

WAREHOUSING & LOGISTICS

Responsible for W H key functional Areas like receipts, checking put away, storage & stacking, picking & consolidation

Preparation of necessary Documents for Export Shipments

Material receiving in systems base on PO and submission of Invoice to finance for payments

Coordinate with forwarders for pickup and Delivery. Monitoring undelivered shipments with forwarders

Maintaining all daily, weekly and monthly reports and sending to all the concerned team (MIS Reporting)

Identifying slow/ non –moving stock & forwarding the data to the concerned for further liquidation

Coordination with operation team to meet the daily requirement in store

Handling all queries with zero complaints

OPERATIONS

Coordinating with counterpart to pick up the Shipment via email and over phone and get the freight rate approvals.

Coordinating with airlines to block the space and engage with rates negotiation to have the better spot rates.

Obtain the rates approval from overseas for routed shpts.

Constructive follow up with Counterpart to ensure the Shipment arrival and delivery till final destination

Familiarize local customs rules and regulations as well as cargo handling activities to respective destination and local customers.

Effective handling of misrouted cargo.

Preparing SOPs and stabilize the operational activities for all locally sold customer.

Coordinating with overseas buyer in the absence of counterpart participation or interference.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

In Freight Forwarding Industry operations needs to be played the predominate role to stabilize the any accounts with concern.

Receiving shipment details from customer to organize pickup.

Inform shipment arrival as well as status of the consignment to respective customer.

Interpreting the practical difficulties of operations to the customer in amicable manner.

Responding to constructive criticism of customer to stabilize the business with organization.

Develop cordial relations with customers and deep sell

Put maximum efforts to meet customer commitments

Conduct monthly review meeting with major customers and streamline operational activities

Accompany Sale person to address key issues and concerns

CHA COORDINATIONS

Effective coordination with Customs House Agents or Brokerage department is most prevalent activity of Freight Forwarding.

Sending shipping documents in advance to file shipping bill for all movements

Follow up operational activities to ensure on time customs clearance

Resolve documents discrepancy

Update quick changes in MAWB or no of pieces to CHA or Brokerage department

Conduct monthly review meeting with concern CHA or Brokerage team to review performance levels

Discussing with CHA or Brokerage team to streamline operational activities.

DOCUMENTATION

Documentation is one of the core activities in the Freight Forwarding Industry

Scrutinize customer documents thoroughly like Invoice, packing list, GSP & COO and shipping documents to complete customs formalities in smooth manner

MAWB and HAWB execution in accordance to the traffic provided by concern carrier

MONITORING THE GLOBAL INVOICING

All business transactions end with pecuniary matters hence accuracy in billing should be perfect in all ways

Weekly monitoring of Global rates of Invoicing with SOP agreed with customer

Any billing discrepancy will be identified and will be replaced with revised Freight bill in accordance with SOP and customer intimated on the same

Any billing errors by counterpart offices will be taken up with the respective offices accordingly to make necessary changes in accordance to the agreement
