Worked proactively to investigate current designs for redesign opportunities to improve ergonomics, reduce weight, cost and cycle time thereby reducing the cost of the final product. Worked to identify and incorporate the latest advances in manufacturing technology, materials and techniques. Support the launch of multiple new programs by defining product specifications to suit internal and external customer needs, applying engineering skills to design airplane structure, assisting with the design of tooling requirements, as well as creating assembly and build plans.

? Mentor and train drafters, summer interns, and fellow engineers.

? Verify and check that other?s work complied with ASME standards as well as company regulations and policies.

? Provide engineering and technical support to mechanics, finance department, and procurement teams.

? Lead a team of 7 engineers and drafters on various technical projects.

? Identified, investigated, defined scope and calculated Return on Investment calculations of future design projects. Prepared and performed technical presentations to management for project justification.

? Independently designed a monolithic casting to replace a built-up design composed of 46 discrete parts. Resulted in improved ergonomics, more than 26% savings on the cost of the component, 12% cost savings on surrounding structure, 12% weight reduction of the surrounding structure, and 86% reduction of assembly time.

? Identified and implemented a solution to resolve a interference problem resulting in a more structurally sound design and reduced assembly time.

? Created Boeing?s first monolithic floor beam resulting in a lesser expensive part and reduced assembly time.
